Tottenham 1 Wolves 3: The verdict

holy shit I can't believe I read that whole thread. I am fucking bored tonight.

They are an average squad, and the results show it. City were shit that game in the same way that we were in the second half, not that Leicester or Wolves were are real quality squad.

just how average did they look?

open your eyes, that is not some collection of agricultural pub team players

It’s funny because no one picked up on it for 70 minutes.
Now everyone is going to pretend they battered us from the first whistle.

Wolves were shit, and we decided to bring Spursy back.

No. Wolves were all over us from the 2nd half whistle. A decent first half performance and wolves were always in it. However 2nd half WE were total shit. Not wolves. Cannot believe how bad we were. Just zero effort. How the fuck
What's so weird about it is that you don't have to be a card carrying Football Man to know that Wolves are one of the teams in the Premier League you don't sit back on a one goal lead against. Given our record of throwing away leads this season we shouldn't be comfortable with leading by one goal against anyone, but Wolves have shown repeatedly that they are good at getting back into games.

I dunno if this was poor preparation (which would surprise me, because how to approach this was really obvious) or the players being spent after scoring eleven goals in the space of a few days (which seems more likely to me). It was a complete nightmare of a performance from top to bottom, though.

Lot of shit being spouted here about team selection and individual performances.

Poch picked his strongest side, as he as well as us knew we might have a sniff of the league title. Disappointing not to go in at HT more than one up. No stand out good performance from the first half, just doing enough.

Second half was fucking shocking. Everyone in a white shirt was poor - don’t understand the stick Winks has received here. Looked bereft of ideas and energy. We hardly mustered a shot after HT. it wasn’t a masterclass in coaching from the Wolves manager. It was old fashioned guts, spirit and desire from their players, who knew they were still in the game at 0-1 and scented blood at 1-1.

Why couldn’t we respond? Why did we get ourselves into this situation?

None of us in the forum know the mentality of the squad or individual players. It hurts us when we lose like this and it feels personal. So our when we allege that the club/players we support have bottled it or reverted to bring ‘Spursy’ its more of an emotional response..,,

Listen, had we lost up at Everton last week, and JUST thumped Wolves 6-2 this afternoon, we'd be buzzing...

It's COS it's at home, and 'just' cos it's Wolves that everyone is down... but look at the results they've had against the other TOP teams so far...
THEY'RE EVERYONE'S bogey team, not just ours.

10.30 bbc1 if anybody missed it
You can see wolves park the bus

Bit of a reality check today but on reflection the fact we’re still in second for now, still in the League Cup and the Champions League is more than many of us expected at this point in the season.

Fair play to Wolves for giving it a go today as compared to the likes of the recent turgid awfulness that was Burnley. I thought that after our last two games they might have been more circumspect but they stuck to their game today and it paid off for them (albeit we did our best to help them).

We failed to create a single chance in 90 minutes. Kane scored a wonder goal, but they were the better team throughout and fully deserved the win. We didn't have a solitary shot in the second half. I'd expect Fulham to show more attacking intent. The squad desperately needs more ambition,, within itself, in Poch's tactics, and from the ownership if it wants to be anything more than New Woolwich - always top 4, selling the stars, never quite competing.

Oh look we’ve got another championship rival

Well done today. In two years when your back in division 2, cling onto to this one

Fuck off you mug, ain't you got any mates you can celebrate the biggest result your clubs had In a decade with, instead of logging into a Tottenham forum, what a sad, pathetic existence you are living , I pity you

Yeah you had 11 men behind the ball for 70
minutes though.

We were shit and you won. But you parked the bus even at 1-0 like I said you would.
Just 9pts from safety now....keep plugging away and you might even finish above West Ham. Then next year when your best players are sold you can go back to fighting off relegation as per.

Anyway, time to go nuts out there in Farmersville!! You came to London and beat Spurs!!!
You really did it!!!!

:freundgoal:

Our biggest result was against Chelsea

Can't imagine having a big result and my first thought is to log onto a opposing fans forum, barely even on here after big wins coz I'm out celebrating, state of these wolves cunts .

I watched Wolves jogging about for an hour behind the ball and then Spurs shit their pants

I didn’t say you parked at 2-1 up, I said you parked the bus for the first 60-70 minutes.

We were shit. I haven’t said we were the better team.
I don’t give credit to gloaters....from the minute you rocked up here all you’ve wanted is me to tickle your tummy and say “good boy!!”

I don’t give a fuck about Wolves. You were someone we needed to beat today and didn’t. Sorry if your insignificance bothers you.

As I said, enjoy the battle to 40pts

They were very disciplined in defence, but they were not parking the bus. There were long spells in the second half when they were on the ball in our half.
We should have killed it in the first half when we were on top.
They were good in the away game as well, I hope they finish 6th personally.
Comparing with other teams we have seen recently, they look streets ahead of Bournemouth and Everton.

You have never been the better team, our lot gave up in the second half. I know it's difficult to stomach, but your success is born from the apathy of a club that actually matters.

But if you're claiming a strategic victory, I'd have to say that the league will soon get wise to your pathetic useless cunts act followed by plucky cunt act for the win. So it can't last.

Enjoy this, your only moment in the sun. Before the year is out your empty reality will dawn on you and, once more, you'll reach for the wrist knife. I just hope this time you have the bollocks to see it out.

Oh do fuck off you clown.. Why didn't you sign up here when we beat you at your place?? you are nothing but a yo-yo team like you neighbours. It happens, the little teams occasionally catch the big teams on a bad day, and that;s what happened.. Now disappear you Muppet.

Do you realise what a Cunt you are making of yourself and your pointless little yo-yo club? you didn't come on here when we beat you so stop acting like a bell-end.

Enjoy staying up. There is nothing else

Funny, the whole 'winning streak against Promoted teams' stat that was wheeled out (again) pre-match failed to mention one thing... most promoted teams are shit!
Wolves were probably one of the best Promoted teams we have faced in years... I think West Brom used to cause us a few headaches when they were bouncing between divisions, but as far as a team straight out of the Championshit... fair play, Wolves have gone about it the right way!

Blimey, what with Wolves' result, and Liverpool's season so far, I bet Emlyn Hughes must really be annoying everyone in heaven tonight!!

I think you guys played well in the 2nd half... and you're a lot more interesting to watch that Huddersfield and Burnley.

Now fuck off

The first time this season my brother in law has been to Wembley and he couldn't believe his eyes or ears at how shit it is.

If I never have to watch another Premier League game there as long as I live it will be too soon.

We were shit all over the pitch and deserved to lose. That must be the worst half of football from us I have seen in a long long time.

Wolves weren't all that but still much better than us. Credit where it is due, their fans were very good.

Still, nice to meet Yiddo99. That is the year he was born by the way, my DMs were older than him.....

Well buzz and drink it in on your own forum, nobody gives a shit about your view of the game and we don't now have some new found respect for you, you're a mid table side we should of beat, thats it. Spare me with the 3 years ago you were in League 1 shit, you bought your way to the prem, you snapped up players from portugal through some dodgy agent dealings, players who would no way of joined a lower mid table championship side otherwise, you were a man city of the championship, I will never respect that.

Yawn. How many Spurs fans went on your forum when we beat you up there? I'd hazard a guess at none. Fucking wierdos.

Disingenuous much? Your bragging is implicit in your posting today. You could read the 'balanced view' without having actually signed up today and posted. In what world did you expect to have a cordial dialogue with fans of an opposing team that you just unexpectedly beat? You got your day in the sun, good times. If you wanted to have respectful dialogue and truly interact you would have signed up previously...but those circumstances weren't in your favor then so you did it now. Truly smalltime.

btw have a fucking look at the previous clubs that serpent Mendes has infiltrated and then left and see how they did or are doing in his wake. He is a cancer that anyone with any kind of self respect would hate in their club. Luckily you and your fellow polydactyl black country supporters aren't encumbered with such things as self respect so you lap up the shady dealings of that parasite Mendes and his Sino money laundering comrades. You will be sucking Mick McCarthy's cock to come back to your godforsaken club in a few years. But enjoy your moment. Cheers.

If he continues in this vein all season I could imagine him getting bids of £25m. He is a bonafide PL starter now.
Doherty, like Coady only has real worth in our formation and our take on it. Unless another team want to play the same way you wouldn't get your worth out of him at any price really. He's a poor right back, wouldn't be a good wing back in a conventional system such as the one England played in the World Cup or one set up defend like Fulham did the other day.

There is no doubting his worth to us, but the role he plays is pretty unique

Only the third time that Spurs have lost by 2 or more goals under Poch. Others were to Man City and Liverpool

Arsenal beat them 4-2 a few weeks ago

Just looked through quickly, they have also lost by 2 or more against Chelsea, United, Stoke & Newcastle.

Only the third time they have lost in the league at home by 2 or more though, that's probably the stat they were aiming for.

There always seems to be an extra level of bitterness with the London clubs. Brilliant stuff

BBC stat about the two goals was home fixtures.

Also only Barca and City have won at Wembley this year.

Loved the Bennett back heel to Costa I think it was - brilliant!

State of those comments, hopefully we start the collapse they usually have around this time of year and just scrape a Europa league place, but I wouldn't be too upset if we pipped them for that place

In fairness if someone came on here giving it the big 'un they'd get short shrift.

23rd April 1960 - my first time seeing the first team live. Lost 1-3 at home to Spurs and in doing so lost the chance to win the league (and cup double)

This piece of revenge tastes so sweet today - particularly if it cements their place off top spot!!!

COYW

Come March, Spurs will be playing for pride as usual.

Just a quickie, when Kane got his card for diving, what was Jonnys card for ?

What a bunch of self entitled, dickheads most of them are!
When did Spurs fans become the Man U fans of London?

He'd cleaned out ... someone, I forget who... with a late challenge near the halfway line about 30 seconds earlier.

Only just roused back into the land of the living. Filing that one in the draw with “best away days ever”

Couldn't watch or follow the game yesterday, so Where where where can I get a copy of the match to watch? Any suggestions would be brilliant!
