Torino Build Up Thread

Coady, Rui and Boly are the only players I can see starting Monday, Thursday, Sunday. I hope Nuno balances the team for both games rather than going with a significantly weaker one versus Burnley.
I'd do this:
Torino
---------------------Rui-------------------
-----Vallejo----Coady-----Boly------
Traore-Saiss-Moutinho-Donck-Jonny
---------------Crutone--Jota---------

Burnley
---------------------Rui-------------------
-----Bennett---Coady-----Boly------
Doherty-Saiss- MGW-Neves-Vinagre
--------------Jimenez- Neto------

7 of the normal 11 in each game.

There will be a mix & match approach to these games - have a little more faith in the back ups this year than last.

Cutrone,Neto & Vallejo have had positive reports & the very little I have seen of them was promising - Vinagre is growing in experience - Saiss has done all we have asked of him when used.

Unlikely that Doherty will play thursday as it didn't look as if he knew what day it was last night - no idea on Torino's capability, but maybe a combination of Jonny on the right & Vinagre to replace the other side is a more sensible option. Traore is showing signs of understanding, but he's not fully formed yet.

I don’t understand what part of watching Wolves under Nuno for the last two years could lead you to think he’d make that many changes, especially in such an important game.

We could play every other day and he’d still try and play the same 11.

Traore in for Doc is all I see.

Mainly that we've never had to deal with Monday/Thursday/Sunday at this kind of level before. I would be amazed if we start with the same 11 that put in that much effort yesterday. I know Nuno likes to pick the same side where possible, but I think even he knows he'll need to freshen things up after yesterday's match and with the travel involved etc. It's completely different to when we had the odd 2 game week in the Championship and he won't get away with playing the same team every week this season. They'd be fucked by Christmas.

Just my opinion, of course.

I personally think he'll pair Cutrone + Jimenez. They have a really good defence much like ours, and he'll want the poachers on from the start to maximise any chances. Cutrone should know Torino well too.

Also think Saiss will come in for Donk. He'll want the extra protection he gives, but keep Moutinho's delivery and creativity in there.

I think the back three will stay the same, fitness permitting, but Traore will replace Doc if he isn't ready.

I think that'll be it for changes.

Rui

Bennett - Coady - Boly

Traore - Saiss - Joao - Neves - Jonny

Jimenez - Cutrone

Two out and out strikers from the go?
Away in Italy?
By Nuno, a defensive coach by nature?

I'll have what you're having Bear.

You'd think so, but they haven't started their league season yet, so we don't actually know what that is.

Be very surprised if they didn't. They haven't start their League season yet (this weekend I think)

I think the fact Neto came on before Cutrone last night shows he sees it being a Neto/Raul or Jota/Cutrone front combination, rather than Raul and Cutrone. Maybe he thinks they're too similar to play together, currently.

Torino are home to Sassuolo this Sunday, and away at Atalanta the Sunday after. Sassuolo is no gimme and Atalanta will be a difficult game. So they may choose to rotate a little.

It will be the exact same team from last year, since we havent bought or sold anyone.

Jimenez drops deep and links play as well. It's not as far fetched as it sounds.

Do your fans start frothing at the mouth with every day that there are no new signings? Could just be a Wolves phenomenon...

For me we need to go as strong as possible against Torino. It's a ridiculous spell of games and if you told we now we'd get past Torino and take 4pts off Burnley & Everton I'd be ecstatic. So for me it's as close to the first XI as we can get and see who's still standing come Sunday. And come the international break every single Wolves player to have a strategic injury

Strategic injuries wont work. If we tell Mexico Raul has a knock they can still tell him to jump on a plane and their staff will determine if he is injured.

I could have done with sending in a replacement to do my job today. It’s knackering me out! Anyway out of office is on now and “Europe, we’re on our way”

It’s impossible to know what team Nuno will play the next two games without knowing the results of recovery.

They’ll all likely be fine bar doc, so that’s the only change i suspect. He may play Saiss (he actually rates him and doesn’t think he makes us much/any worse), and Vinagre at a push, but doubt it.

If we can get a two goal lead then he knows he’s got the ability to rest a few for the home leg

Nice little guide just arrived from Wolves. Where to drink, don't be nobhead etc and from 5.30pm Shuttle Buses are running Wolves fans to the Stadium (police escort). No mention if they are coming back after the game, hope they are
