Ticket Prices 2021-22

I dont have a season ticket so guess its really fuck all to do with me, but........

16% of Revenue is matchday
We all want Neves not sold, we all want us to sign good quality players thats a good amount of Cash. We all want to hit top 6 and top 4.

Unfortunately a ground development tajes 20 years to recover the money, so increasing the revenue stream that qay whilst a good idea is a long term thing

I think it should be 2 phase, maybe sort the Steve Bull and make it bigger and increase ticket prices

Matchday revenue is so much more than ticket prices though. It's merch, food and drink etc. It's one of a number of red herrings thrown out in that interview that some people are biting on

Equally, who is actually in the ground is a lot more than matchday revenue.

Having a ground full of long-standing fans will on occasions lift the team if it only happens once a season and helps gain 3 points that get you an extra place in the league that covers any increase.

Maybe not paying reported agent’s fees of £6m on a single transfer would be a better way to boost income.

I will continue to pay whatever it costs for my lad and I as it is our day out twice a month but gradually turning it into a tourist ground will no doubt eventually diminish the experience of going. If the atmosphere declines it becomes far less attractive and in the medium term I can see a time when I’ll have better things to spend my money on, as much out of principle as necessity

It is principle with me, I don't see how they can justify this at all.

They need to think about who it is they're driving away here. Not in a "do you know who I am" way, but surely what you don't do is take someone who's followed the club for 33 years and alienate them because you think fans in Mexico and Denmark are more important?

It's batshit crazy.

It'll cut off a good portion of my social life but so be it.

I’m seriously thinking about sacking it off if the moves over the next month are as bad as I fear. Vinny Clark should be fired immediately for even contemplating this “re-alignment”. It’s like having fucking Moxey back.

What are you getting at here? Are you saying the club are right to get tourists in as they will spend more or the opposite?

Neither- I'm saying quoting matchday revenue as a certain percentage to justify price increases is disingenuous when ticket prices are only a proportion of what makes up matchday revenue. Let's say all sth pay an extra £100, that's £2m in total give or take, or 1 PL place. It's milking fans, losing goodwill whilst gaining very little in the grand scheme of things. We aren't going to buy more club shop tat or pies because of it, so £2m is all you have increased your matchday revenue by. Plus say £25k a game by putting a fiver on tickets for none sth's

Yeah I agree there. Swiss ramble had wolves “matchday” money at around £13m. That included several EL games but missed off a few PL (although 22k of the tickets were already paid for). So “matchday” revenue with no price increase will probably be around the £13m again give or take a bit. That is 7% of A likely turnover.

So 1) where does this 16% come from. 2) an extra £2m make a 1% increase in turnover and pisses people off/ alienates fans.

That extra £2m doesn’t actually buy you anything that’s going to make a discernible difference.

I'm all for increasing revenue, in a meaningful way. But all this is for such a piddling amount, and at such a high PR cost, you'd have to be fucking mental to do it at the moment.

Get a top drawer manager in and a couple of big ticket signings, finish 7th with some attractive football and you can try and justify it, especially if there's ground improvements on the go. It's impossible to defend.

It also begs the question of what's the point in having billionaire owners if they're going to be insistent on level net spend, or not making a P&L loss, or even redeveloping the ground (which doesn't count under FFP).

So 1) where does this 16% come from.
Clubshop, kiosks and hospitality. The first 2 you aren't increasing revenue of as a result of this. The shirt deal will increase profit, but that's obviously different. The latter we admit we can't put up as the facilities in the SB are shite. That's where the ground improvements will come, but it won't improve things for normal fans in there

They're absolutely dreaming if they're thinking people are flying in from all over the world to watch Wolverhampton Wanderers. Cloud cuckoo land.
Agree with this totally. The core fan base that go to matches has, is and will be always Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. As in Stourbridge, Kingswinford that area.

I just wonder if they will now take a step back and reassess their price structure after this weeks uproar. Maybe the prices will still go up but now not as much as they were envisaging.

Never been on a train with London Wolves then have you?
Are there 25,000 of them on that train? If not then they are not the core are they... There are small groups of Wolves fans around the globe. They are not the big number that go to the match.

Except in Italy and Mexico!
