Ticket Prices 2021-22

Not going to lie, when I loaded the forum and saw this was the most recently commented on my heart dropped that they'd announced pricing. Fully expecting the prices to go up fairly drastically.

My opinion on the B-TEC Jez is lower than a snakes belly so I could fully imagine him trying to justify increases that surpass the 19/20 refund.
For a start, they can't act as if they're doing us a favour with the "refund".

If they take the piss then I just won't renew, fuck them.

They shouldn't, but they will and they'll have the 'Johnson effect' with the masses who won't stop to see the bigger picture - greenlighting another rise for 22/23.

It's not sustainable though, is it.

We aren't cheap in the first place.

It's not but a combination of most not going to a game for 18 months and tickets being masked as frozen will see most pay. I think I will to be honest.

The product on the pitch would have to be pretty bloody special next season for me to pay £600 in 22/3 though. A 13th place finish again, even with better football would see a big drop off I think. I've mentally set £570 as my limit unless something really special develops

I just don't get why we've missed the opportunity without crowds to expand the stadium. I'd like my first season ticket since 2009, now I can finally afford it, but not at the expense of regular fans

If its true that Fosun don't want to invest further then put the club up for sale.

They are already looking to sell a stake and have been for 18 months. Presumably that investment would go into the club

Its not at all but its football, sustainability is a dirty word. Especially to these corporate shills infesting the clubs. As I said recently its nice taking the moral high ground with the Cancer Six but its faux outrage when we're all at it.

I'll just walk away, it's really easy.

I’m realistically away at the end of the season anyway if Australia actually open the borders on time so I will pay this one. If I stayed longer then I doubt it.

Hopefully they will grasp it soon. You only have to look at history to see that when the novelty wears off the fans walk away. We got big crowds in L1, stagnate a bit in the championship and it drops off. Same will happen in the PL. When you’re pricing people out as well you’re only going to accelerate that process. I’m sure the Mexicans will fill the void every week though…

Prices went up and with the team challenging at the top end of the league it was understandable and justifiable. Since then the owners have overseen a big drop in quality of football and results so I’m struggling to see how they justify further increases. They may have a big waiting list for STs but that will soon disappear if performances don’t improve on last year. Pissing off your fanbase for £2m a year when Mendes took £5m for the Doherty transfer is a really bad idea, even more so when expectations for the coming season are pretty low amongst a lot of fans.

Yes of course running of a football club does get cheaper when you underperform, the loss of revenue for finishing lower must only be seen as a minor blot on the pre season business plan ?

Let's hope we stay up then. Season tickets will be a grand each in the Championship by that logic

So what's illogical to you (unless you don't get sarcasm), then I see your point

Will £2m extra really make a lot of difference overall? In the grand scheme of things it is minor.

Completely agree but the 12mil + we lost from league placing will

Only if we budgeted for it, which would have been madness
