Ticket Prices 2021-22

or they are looking at sites other than Molineux.
I don't see that as a real option. They have zero return from the current ground (even if there were no covenants on it real estate in Wolves is a pretty low value)

The cost to build a brand new stadium, associated infrastructure works, purchasing said land, planning etc would make this a very expensive investment, all the casinos, hotels they could fit on the land would be hard stretched to pay for the overall additional outlay of the stadium in a short to medium term investment.

At the moment they need to rebuild 1 stand that everyone is in agreement with that would bring capacity up to 35kish (maybe a bit more) which realistically would meet current demand for 90% of matches played. Those additional 5kish seats would cost as a guess somewhere north of £40m to rebuild the Steve Bull. They are somewhat hamstrung with further development immediately around the ground but I was of the belief they still owned the old Tarmac building site. They are also have many sites in the town that would be available at pretty low rates to develop, so its not as if there isn't opportunity to invest their other ventures close by

I think the crux of it is that they don't see a long term investment as being attractive for the capital outlay this would require both in time and return offered. This isn't a slow or cheap process to start kicking down the road, they will have had some financial modelling done and it would look like it doesn't stack up in their plans.

Mine was more a throw away comment than trying to find a fact to be honest.

We have little clue right now what the direcion is. Fosun will talk about us once maybe twice a year. Jeff is their master on this project and for the first few years, you couldn't shut him up. Sometimes that was great and others he would say things that would come back to bite him on the arse. After last years transfer window (which he said would be great) he suddenly shut his mouth. We've had 1 real thing from him since then which was the video Q&A. So all we have is the original goal of where Fosun want to take us, with an added it will take a few more years thanks to comments via the Athletic. I have no clue if they are wavering from their initial goal which included rebuild/move Stadium.
I would say a Stadium move is not off the table though but until we get a proper update from Jeff or his bosses we are all guessing really.

Direction concerns me right now. The lost 18 months seems to have made those at the top find every single possible way to claw back lost revenue and the fans are the main target of that grab. I also think the growth of the brand is being put ahead of other more important things right now. Appreciate thats how football works these days off the pitch but a mid table Prem team with the odd sniff of success will only get you so far and if we have managed to balls that up with decisions made this summer then we look fucking stupid.

Good post, the obvious question to ask in countenance to your final paragraph is why didn't they consider all this when they were promising grand stadium plans at the end of the 1st Prem season with a 50k capacity Molineux? What changed or why didn't they realise this originally?

After a lot of hemming and hawing I have eventually renewed for this season (I'm still not happy with them, mind). Mainly as I've hardly seen anyone in nearly 18 months. Will be the last one though if they increase prices to those new STH levels next year.

2nd time you have renewed this week, you are the kind of custo..sorry supporter Vinny loves

oh, and an additional. I kinda feel that the thing I have missed most, is pre and post match experiences. Yes, the football is a great experience, but actually, I suspect I might not be alone in missing the people I had such experiences with more, than the football itself.
Agree with that.

The new ticketing structure means it will be easier for the likes of me and Wolf Hunting to get a ticket on general sale.
But if that means not meeting you lot for beers in the London or the Bohemian pre and post match - that will certainly be detrimental to my matchday experience.

I remember before this forum existed, WH and I travelled over for games and it was just the two of us all day, and that's fine but it became a much more enjoyable experience meeting local fans, STH's etc in the pub to chat about the game and our expectations.

The new structure means we will ultimately end up like Utd with a bunch of tourists in the stands spending the entire match taking photos and the atmosphere will no doubt suffer.

I'm sure Fosun wouldn't mind that (someone else's money has the same value as mine, and people like that would spend more in the store and on food/drink than I ever do).

The problem is Wolves tourists don't exist, they're kidding themselves.

They spoke about running stadium attendance modelling that had made them revise/downsize their targets fir the build.

If you talk to building consultants they will of course want you to build as big as you can afford, I suspect that some of these figures were just very high level sketching out client objectives and shouldn't have been discussed openly at that stage.

I recall someone saying that the difference in China and UK construction is that in China you pay an official a bribe and that is that, in the UK the 'bribes' are dressed up as burocracy which takes alot longer to get around.

You can't underestimate the amount of work that goes into getting a scheme like that through the building process in the UK which would also potentially put them off.

Think the club would have to be doing really well for that to happen, that doesn't seem likely ATM. Wolverhampton isn't particularly touristy I mean without the football club would you be likely to recommend it as a place to visit?

The only tourists would be Paul the Plastic Scouser from Willenhall and Raj the Fake Manc from Cannock. That would would only be applicable for half a dozen games a year at the most.

You managed to get Paul and Cannock into that sentence, hardly subliminal mate :)

Very true

Revenue or ebita?
My friend, She works as an associate fund manager . A significant amount of her contract is performance related with 000 bonus capability not just a few quid. EBITDA I would doubt as it would be tax deductible from gross. Have I got the right end of the stick on that? Another contact has a similar performance contract but in property management . Again the bonuses are a significant part and based on the income he makes from the portfolio he manages. In both cars they are rewarded for maximising the income potential of the investments they manage.

They don't fly very well in the wind, that's the problem. A good old season ticket book used to be reliable.

They fly if you do the old playing card trick and flick/spin it straight at him.

That might have his eye out though.
