There goes Julen!

Here's a though regarding Julen Lopetegui v Michael Beale. I dont think Beale would have sold a bottom of the league club to many players, but I know for a fact Lopetegui will...

Yep

Not sure Nunes, Guedes and Podence would have looked up from their food either had Beale walked in!

Great interview, very interesting to hear his thoughts about the club and some background to his talks. Confirmed that he was impressed with the patience and respect we showed him regarding his father. Seen more from him in 2 days than 15 months of Lage, definite Nuno vibes about him.

He is correct in that his first job is to convince our players that they are capable of better than what they're currently showing.

Praying that we survive and then next summer he can prepare us for next season properly. Got the impression in that interview that he has no interest in managing in the Chump League!

Get the feeling he wants to be here, not just for the money.
Thought it was a nice touch with the mascots yesterday as well as he was coming out onto the pitch.
Lot more confident now than I ever was with the overpromoted PE teacher (tm DW)

He’s defo got a similar aura to Nuno when first joining. A self belief and authority that you could never say about Bruno really.

Let’s just hope he can get them playing quickly. It’s a strange situation as we’ve got a lot to get right to get ourselves out this hole but I still think the individuals are a lot better than what we’ve seen. The signings key examples, all good players in their own right under performing.

Nuno and Julen both have "favorite college professor" vibes, IMO.

Brilliant interview. He shows signs of already “getting” the city and the league. Get us through this season alive and then onwards and upwards Julen.

Great interview. I was hoping to get some of what he is about, and i did. He's certainly not here just for a pay cheque. Like others have said he gives off the same vibe as Nuno did.
I certainly think there will be new players in, but i'm sure he thinks the ones we have are not all duds...
Interesting to here there are 3 games in Marbella. I wonder if they will be strong teams or patsy's?

He comes across very well - but he's got a hell of a job on his hands.

I have absolutely no doubt that the vast majority of our squad are playing WAY beneath their potential. It's a recipe for disaster when that happens to so many players, and without proper coaching (as well as improvements to the squad) we won't be in the Premier League next season.

I absolutely hate reading posts such as 'x has found his level', or 'y just had a purple patch last season' etc etc. Pisses me off - we have good players, but ALL players can lose form. Doesn't mean they're suddenly shit and are irredeemable.

If Lopetegui can get them enjoying their football again in amongst some new faces (with some better fitness coaches to improve our appalling injury record of late) then we'll be fine. That's a huge job - and I think he knows it.

Agree.

Basically they're a group of players that have been poorly managed/rudderless for over a year and they need someone to grab hold of them. Telling that he mentioned that one of his first jobs is to convince the players that they are good enough again. He has been watching and he knows what the issues are. He also wouldn't have come on board if he wasn't confident of turning it around

Him and his team are in for a depressing 10 days sat watching games back

They'll be fine as long as they don't read the last 12 months of TWF.
I believe the Wolves commentary team will be doing 2 days of live reading this forum to compliment the (lack of) action on the screen
