The Wolves 4 Besiktas 0 (bah Braga won) verdict thread.

Whenever he was in frame it looked like a man playing against boys

If he fills out that frame but keeps his athleticism he will be a carbon copy of Boly, he's taller than both Coady and Bennett (6'2") and looks quality on the ball. He played CM last night but against PSG at CB he looked more than capable and I would say that's his position to make his own.

Impressed with Perry too, looks busy, maybe trying to be Joao, not a bad player to aspire to become!

Didn't manage to watch last night as I was out with work but recorded to watch later.

Looks like I'll fast forward to about 56 minutes :icon_lol:

my iptv played up last night but managed to find a stream and had WolvesTv commentary. Audio was about 3 minutes behind picture, so had Mikey saying how we could do with another goal and had infact already scored another 2 - priceless.

I think that Otasowie's contract may be up soon and there are plenty of other clubs looking at him. Watched him in an U23 game - albeit only online - and thought he was a tremendous prospect

commentators said he expires in summer. so better have a contract ready sooner than later.

you can definitely skip the first half. cutrone's two offsides were the only real plays of note, and those were in like the first 5 mins?

I actually thought Perry looked better than Otasowie, though Perry did have more time. He looked very busy and his corners were excellent.

Otasowie catches the eye as he is a very tall, and he certainly looks very good. Just don't think he did much, or had time to do much last night - header aside.

Totally agree, just waited for someone else to say it :)

Perry looked great as well.

Also, headers

I too have been struggling to recollect anything Otasowie did to attract such praise, didn't do anything badly by any means but at the same time I can't think of anything aside from that header than made him stand out. Perry was the busier of the two but again though he looked steady and competent rather than doing anything particularly exciting.

The one youngster that did catch my eye was Buur, thought he started a bit shaky but grew stronger as the game went on and had a very good second half, put in some good firm challenges to regain possession in spite of his small stature plus his movement and use of the ball improved as the game progressed.

The game changed on the Neves substitution, not that he was appearing to hold the team back or anything but the change in shape that his removal facilitated transformed the performance. Cutrone came alive in a proper central role with options either side of him, Neto looked a lot more comfortable being able to spend more time in wide areas and frequently directed Buur inside to allow him to stay wider. I do agree to an extent on what someone said earlier on Neto, he seems to perhaps think he is better than he actually is, at times he holds the ball too long or attempts things that he's just not good enough or quick enough to pull off but he's got enough about him to be a useful player if he can reign that in a bit and focus on the stronger elements of his game.

I think Otasowie just looked comfortable with the ball and like it wouldn't faze him playing at that level.

Young Oskar struggles with confidence a bit I think. He can play.

First half I thought Burr looked out of his depth a bit, as I said to DW at half time. But he really grew into the game with the formation change.

Otasowie was just calmness and presence personified. In one so young that is a big plus. And he is a monster unit. Excited to see him develop.

Otasowie must look like a parent playing in a kids game in the u23's he looked very assured and almost a dream debut with a goal. Very excited to see more of him. If we can get past Yanited I'd love to draw someone he can feature against.

As with others Buur had a few opportunities to attack some space in the first half but hesitated or wasn't adventurous. Again much improved in the second and he's got a good eye for a pass. We can all agree on Doc's crossing being hit and miss but if we could get Buur into similar positions think he'd do well.

Thought Vinagre was good throughout needs to release it sooner at times, I don't want him to lose the mad skills just learn where to keep it simple. Him and Jota will be/are frightening down that side.

Think Kilman had another low pressure night but his distribution is good and his overall confidence us growing, can see him willing to try more things.

Neto was reasonsble in the first, drew a foul and looked busy but he and Cutrone were far too far apart and the formation change helped both as seen with the link up for the first. The two touch to create the space to cross for Jota's opener was brilliant and well deserved.

He was impressive in that regard, nuno has an eye for talent

Otasawie was signed as midfielder, right? But has been playing CB for the U23s?

I really want Neto to do well for us. I think he has a lot of potential, similar to how I think of Vinagre. I'm hoping Nuno's never give up on a player attitude counts for him and then some as think he's worth it

He's come all the way through the academy but has been struggling with injuries. He's barely been seen until the last couple of months.

Really enjoyed last night - a game which really had very little riding on it as we had already qualified & they couldn't, though as a result they brought a lot less than their first team so didn't really give us a problem.

Was interested to see how the U23's & fringe players contributed.

Burr - nervous in the first half, but stepped up in the second half. Another option to Traore if Doherty is not available - not as good going forward but probably better defensively.

Vinagre - electric pace, but needs to learn when to do the tricks & when to play the earlier simple pass. Watching the highlights you can appreciate Cutrone's real anquish at the delayed pass for his offside goal. Should have been played earlier without the stepover & it would still have been a goal, but with Cutrone still onside.

Otasowie & Perry - not seen either before, but impressed in the limited time they had. Otasowie is a big lad but has a good touch (& head) & we almost didn't miss Moutinho's corners when he went off as Perry was still putting them into the right place

Kilman did what I have seen him do before - nothing fancy, solid with decent positional sense and is starting to play a bit more now he has had a game or two. Would like to see him tested in a more difficult game than he has had so far.

(Cutrone & Neto shouldn't feature in this list as they are both regulars in the first 18 - both are growing in confidence & knowledge at this level. Some of Cutrone's flicks off the outside of his boot were sublime & a big part of setting up the first goal. Neto has very quick feet as thought that he had lost the chance to set up that goal, but in a second he was free again to put the cross in.)

Really liked how the team reacted to getting into a spot of bother, either chasing down a lost ball or the way Neto found space to create the goal.
