The Wolves 3 Wet Shambles 0 Verdict Thread

Watching the goals again...when Raul scores our 2nd, watch the West Ham defender marking Benno, he is 1 step away from body slamming him into the pitch

There's a good piece here which discusses why the periodisation of training works well for injuries. Nuno is one of the followers of this style and you can see why it's effective.

Interesting.

Do you think this also has a direct impact on our fitness at the end of the match. When other teams seem to be tiring, we seem to keep going & going, and could this, in turn, be responsible for the number of late goals we've scored this season?

I find it interesting that, despite using the least amount of players in the Premier League this season (18), our players seem fitter and stronger as games progress compared to other sides.

I would say so Jinks. There's a fair amount of science behind compartment/ periodisation training in almost all sports.

I was surprised to see Chelsea's warm up earlier in the season whereby it was quite old fashioned and it would be a fair assumption to say it reflects training.

Ours on the other hand was phase oriented and reading the article I would say it reflects Nuno's training methods. It would be a good reason to see why Donk has struggled in the first part of the season.

Where Nuno seems different from Mourinho is his ability to adapt. I really, really, really hope we can keep Nuno for at least 5 years.

That's the one I was trying to remember last night! Ridiculous how the ref didn't give cards for their fouling.
They got 1 yellow (snodgrass, the cunt). How Carroll and numerous others didn't get any cards is beyond me. Neves got booked for asking the fucking question for christs sake.

One good thing, Jota didn't get a red mist. To be fair, he was probably entitled to get a red mist yesterday!

He did chase the ref and then shout in his face...should always be booked for that, regardless of whether the ref is a blind fuck knuckle or not. Coady was lucky to escape a card in that as well after shouting in the face of the 4th official

Obiang should have been booked too for savaging Moutinho late on.

The officiating is so bad it's scary. There are incidents that they are getting wrong as obvious as the ball going out of play 5 yards away from the linesman. Unnacceptable.

Jota got penalised for a foul throw, next West Ham throw the player had 25pc of his foot on the pitch, play on

The lino on the BW was a disgrace last night. 1 incident where the ball went out for either a goal kick or a corner. Lino looking right at it waits for the ref to say goal kick before raising his flag! and then of course Anderson controls the ball out of play with no Wolves player near him and West Ham get the throw in

West Ham moaning about their injury list? Well if you will sign them. Whoever could have predicted Wilshere would be crocked?!

Having a read of the West Ham forum, amazingly not happy but they are all loving Declan Rice's performance. After watching him last night, that has surprised me. Thought he was negative and played everything ultrasafe. 3 times he picked the ball in dangerous areas and proceeded turn and roll the ball back 20 yards to the CB's despite having 3 or 4 options ahead of him.

He spent most of the game watching a 32-year old get the better of him. Rice and Noble were abysmal.

The TV commentary was orgasmic every time Rice was involved. I might have to re-write that.

Moutinho is on a different level. Just magestic. One of the best ever players to grace the Gold and Black. I enjoy reminding my Spurs supporting mates on how they missed out on him [emoji41]

KUMB is a place of beauty!
Just read through the match thread... There's a bit of praise for Wolves, "they play the right way" and a lot of dismay at how things have gone to shit for them and the odd "losing 3-0 to a promoted side, disgraceful".

We're just a better football team I guess

We've been above them pretty much all season so they can pipe down a bit.

No-one deserves less than 8/10 last night. First 15 minutes was a poor affair from both sides but boy did we step it up after that. Genuinely reminded me of our League One games, if we score first then we'll win easily.

He's got to be in the running for PotS.

I never thought anyone would come close to displacing my manlove for Neves. Until I saw Moutinho.

I am assuming (possibly wrongly!) that Coady asked in his role as captain for a clarification, and managed to keep that chat going?

Funniest moment of the night - gibbs-white going up for a header with andy carroll.

I'm pretty sure the funniest moment was the bennett slide tackle at the halfway mark. :icon_lol:
