Don't think he had anything like that level of ability. He was very good arriving late in the box and acting almost like a second striker at times but I never thought he actually bought a great deal to the build up.

Even that seems a stretch given he only got into that bracket once. He was a good Premier League and in all likelihood would've continued in that vein, I don't think he'd have been troubling many records though.

Regardless of whether people think that would represent value at that price, this just shows the difference between us and the spending power/ambition against some of the clubs we are competing with at the moment, especially after their spend in the Summer. Don’t think it’s fair to relate that offer back to Fosun. Our current transfer policy is quite obviously shit, but spending ~£50m on Duran would be absolutely as stupid as anything else we’ve done lately.

West Ham are a freak club because of their ground situation, they will be able to spend considerably more than other similarly sized clubs.
