He's no use, turns up four times a season...

That’s 4 times more than Guedes did

PL have blocked Spurs from signing Ben Foster to provide cover whilst Lloris is out injured

Charlotte have signed New Zealand international Bill Tuiloma for ~$800k. Good signing, I think. Over 100 appearances in MLS and he never stood out as a weakness for Portland.

He’ll “fill” the position left empty by the passing of Anton Walkes.

So what's the feeling from the 'Lotties' for the coming season, confident? Y'all looking forward to the campaign? What's your realistic goals?

I'll take a crack at answering this over on the Second Club thread. 🙂

I know there were reservations from some about what we've paid for Cunha, but Leeds paying £36m for Rutter is WAY over the odds.
Dumped into the U21s last week and hasn't played more than 32 minutes of a league game so far. In the circumstances, an awful signing.

Silva levels
Worse I'd say. Because in the summer of 2020 we were never ever going to get relegated in the following season. We didn't buy Fabio and expect him to perform immediately, we bought him as a long term project (which may or may not work out, on current evidence more likely that it won't).

In January 2023 Leeds were slap bang in the middle of an ongoing relegation battle and did that.

James Rodriguez released by Olympiacos. Career has properly fallen off a cliff. He's still only 31 and was playing regularly enough for Bayern four years ago.

He was okish for Everton until Rafa came along.

Can anyone here give me the lowdown on Shamrock Rovers forward Jack Byrne?

One of the Irish posters can probably do a better lowdown but played for Ireland 4 times (about 3 years ago), midfielder who can play wide or attacking midfield. Has played in England, Scotland and Cyprus and had a bit of a goalscoring "purple patch" in 2019/20 which got him his call up.

What else can I say?

He has had a few offers , so not sure if he is definitely heading over to the States yet .

Very good on the ball at that level , picks a pass well , sets up a lot of moves . Very promising at a young age which got him the move over to England , but he hadn't the maturity to handle it and lost his way . Went to a few clubs over in England before he eventually came home . Has performed well for Rovers over here . He is more mature and the level suits him .

Why would he take a step down to the MLS then?

Low hanging fruit, this. ;)

But yeah, story here is that Charlotte have apparently stuck in three bids for him, as high as ~€1m. Shamrock have rejected all three.
