The Transfer Thread 2019/20 - everything not Wolves

Louie Barry (16) has rejected a contract at West Brom to sign for Barcelona (who have gazumped PSG). Jamal Musiala has done similar, leaving Chelsea for Bayern

The 2003 England group really is quite something! Talent all over the pitch. Hopefully Dembele (Celtic) and Musiala choose us over Scotland and Germany too.

Fair enough they have the money to be spending that much on one player but look how many holes their squad still has and they've spent north of £60M already!

Still need another CB, a GK, a RB, at least 1 CM, a winger and probably another striker as well.

And they’ve spent that money to basically have the same team as last year (with the Belgian instead of Abraham). Crazy times.

Makes sense as to why we’ve not spent this summer though - everyone wants stupid money unless there’s a release clause...

We spent rather a lot to have pretty much the same team last season as we had the season before too tbf.

Patricio, Moutinho, Jimenez and Jonny all regulars and all big improvement on the previous year. You can probably add Dendonker too.

Yep, but didn't actually pay for any of those, £5m bargain of the century aside, in the transfer window I believe?

Depends on how you look at Patricio deal. The 18m was classed as a fee spent during the window even though he could have been a free transfer

True, I was kinda saying though, that we did a similar exercise to villa and spent a fair chunk of money on keeping our loanees first - around £40 to 50m?

Obviously there's a huge difference in quality though.

Mings is £20m up front, the rest on European/International clauses.

Jota 12.6
Boly 10.8
Vinagre 2.0
Bonantini 3.6

According to transfermarkt, retaining the players from the previous season cost £29m, rather than £60m.

We then spent 18 on Traore, 16 on Patricio, and 5 on Moutinho, with Jiminez, Jonny and Donk on loan.

So £68m plus three loans - almost the same as theirs to get their existing players in, their loan business needs to be very impressive!

Huddersfield sign the fabulously named Herbert Bockhorn from Dortmund II.

I'm sure Bock-wurst was a boiled sausage in German.

It is indeed. Like a hot dog style.

Tielemans to Leicester is done.

Apparently they are also in for Thauvin for 28m.

Leicester a big threat this season, particularly with a low workload compared to us.

Can genuinely see us and Leicester finishing above united and Chelsea this season
