Sky Sports are reporting that Ander Herrera has passed his medical and agreed terms with Man Utd, although a fee hasn't been agreed with Bilbao.

Sascha Riether off to Freiburg from Fulham.

Luke Freeman to Bristol City from Stevenage. Thought he might perhaps have been one we were looking at, but I suppose with Van La Parra coming in we don't really have room for him. Good player though.

Re-signing Vydra is a game changer for Watford. He never really got a chance at Albion.

Anelka actually made four more league starts than him, which given that a) it was quite obvious from his first 2-3 games that he was completely washed up and b) he left in January is all kinds of crazy.

Baffling really. Albion's slow, ponderous team was crying out for someone with pace last season but I can't remember Vydra playing 90 minutes for them.

Vydra is too easily bullied off the ball. A lot of pace and a nice finisher when he's on form but last season was too early in his career to be making the step up to premier league football IMO.

Man Utd essentially paid around £28m for him though even if the player paid his contract clause instead of them, surely?

Yeah, it just means Bilbao weren't able to block the move by rejecting United's bids. United give the money to him, he gives it to Bilbao, done deal.

More often than not the release clause in Spanish players' contracts is set so prohibitively high that it never becomes an issue in reality. Even ordinary players have clauses of around £80m or something similarly ludicrous.

Luke Shaw signs for Manchester United.

And Scholes is critical of paying so much for a full back. Recently he does seem very vocal on all things Manchester United related.

He needs to shut his pipe a bit. If Shaw carries on developing as he is, and barring bad injuries, that's left back for United sorted for a dozen years or more. No need to think about it for ages. Like when they paid £30m for Rio who went on to play virtually every game when available for a dozen years.

lallana off to liverpool for £25m

Southampton are going to need to reinvest, can see them paying inflated prices for average players though

they've brought in, what £70m already?

Liverpool looking like going even more open than last year at this rate, it'll be bad enough fitting Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge into the team with little defensive cover and that's before Suarez get's back involved.
