The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Give it a week or so before you mention how bad Matt Doherty is, don’t go in all guns blazing on him at the first tea break.
I’d wish you good luck, but a man of your talents will piss it

So our designated roster clerk was off sick last week and another one stepped in to do our rosters. I've had this Saturday booked off for about 8 weeks and knew they would have to do some shuffling to cover it but they had plenty of time. The new guy didn't even check the holiday list and so, I am (was) not covered. Gave him a call last Friday and he just said "oh, I'll add it to my roster clerks to do list, she's back on Tuesday!"

I rang her yesterday and she made some calls and got the shift covered. She's superb at the job and always seem to find a way to cover shifts, unlike the useless twat who couldn't be bothered to even try.

So, I will now be at Molinuex on Saturday for the game... Oh :(

:ROFLMAO:

Car Insurance: paid £360.80 last year, renewal came through at £431.95.

Best on comparison site was Lloyds at £277 so out of interest tried Lloyds website myself. Quoted me £256, £232 if purchased today with £13.08 extra to protect the NCD so cost me £245.92 in total

After talking about it for what seems like forever, finally accepted an offer on my house today.

Now for the joys of dealing with solicitors.
Congrats! Will keep my fingers crossed that the rest goes smoothly. 🤞🏻

Solicitors can be infuriating in being incredibly inefficient and you never really find out who has been dragging their heels, but as long as you and your buyer are fully committed you tend to get there in the end.

The big fear is the buyer, a nice, excited owner-occupier is the dream. So many investment companies, housing associations and iffy landlords looking to capitalise on the depressed market and people a bit stuck at the moment with derisory offers and sharp practices.

Currently involved in a sale with a charity purchaser who initially dangled the tempting ‘we are cash buyers’ card, and after stringing things along for 4 months ON THE DAY OF EXCHANGE played the next one - ‘we need to reduce the price by 10% to continue. Take it or leave it.’ Charities appear quite fluffy at the bottom but there are some mean fuckers at the top. Barely surprised though as have seen this sort of shit before and with these sort of people you know there’ll be a sting in the tail.

Anyway, that’s probably one for the Annoy thread. Hopefully you’ve got yourself a nice owner-occupier to avoid most of that and it all goes smoothly.

No. A lower reduction has been offered as a compromise but happened only yesterday. We will find out where the lines in the sand are drawn on both sides shortly.

Well, on the theme of house ownership... we got our keys to our first home earlier!! 🥳

It's felt like an impossible dream for so so SO long, particularly here in London (house within M25 but technically Surrey) - and coming from not being a realistic prospect at the start of the year to now happened is surreal (happy to share some tips if you feel like you are in that position with minimal to zero deposit).

A special shout out to a whole bunch of you for the encouragement on the advice thread over the last half a year when I had so little avenues to talk to too many others elsewhere. The whole process is an ache, and I probably had one of the easiest ones too I recognise.

Now i'm full of flu, but I think that's more my body giving up after a stressful period :ROFLMAO:

Congratulations! What a tremendous achievement that is, you should be very proud of yourselves.

Enjoy your first Christmas in your new home too, that will feel special.

Well done mate, really pleased for you.
