We received an offer for our place that meets our asking price. And have accepted. Cash buyer - no chain.
Dream house vendors have accepted our offer now that we have accepted an offer on ours.

So we have listed our house, visited the one we love, accepted an offer on ours and had an offer accepted on the one we love in less than 48 hours.

Really hope there are no major hiccups over the coming months....

Selling and buying a house is one of life's most stressful events I think. Hope there are no last minute hiccups, big or little, and hope your Solicitors are on the ball....unlike ours were State side. Utter useless wankers.

The lady were intially buying from who then pulled out on the exchange day actually emailed us 2 weeks ago to say her house was back on the Market and are we still interested.

God, I would not have wasted one word in my reply to that question...

Saying goodbye to the grass in my new garden and in the next week or so some big fat fake grass will take its place.

I was not happy that in September I had to actually cut some grass for the first time in 6 years.

Could never go for fake grass. Don't need to reduce the requirement for garden maintenance as, in my opinion, any gardening task is far more enjoyable than any interior housekeeping simply by virtue of being outside, I need to retain that excuse to potter about in the fresh air instead of being roped into dusting or cleaning bathrooms.

Quite surprised actually how much time we've spent doing gardening bits since we got our house, don't think it was anything either of us really expected to care a great deal about but can happily spend a whole weekend out there tidying things up and moving bits about. Only disappointment for is the size of our lawn means it's difficult to justify in investing in many of the toys I would like to have at my disposal in my attempts to improve it.

Still enjoy going in the garden and doing work but hate cutting the grass but the main reason I have it is because one of the dogs is superbly allergic to grass. He is ok to short exposure to it thanks to the tabs he takes each day but 2 months here and he has already seen an increase in his issues and with that an increase in the amount of money I have to give to a vet

Just do what I have done this year - have a meadow at the back rather than a lawn

Load of wild flowers as well which attracted a mass of butterflies & bees which is good for the evironment.

Probably need to borrow a couple of sheep (and living out here I know people I could get them from) to get it back to a lawn length of grass.

I must be one of the few people that enjoy mowing. Although have bought a ride on mower now, takes about 25 minutes. Love seeing it after its been cut, seeing the birds digging for worms, and really love the smell of freshly cut grass. That's why I'd never have fake.

Not one of those whose grass has to be perfect, used to live by a chap who spent hundreds of dollars every year feed and weeding it, putting all sorts of stuff on it, plus when he mowed his lines used to be perfectly straight. He'd also go out everyday with a knife and uproot any new dandelions that had appeared overnight.

My kids play in the garden so can’t really grow it into a meadow!

My garden isn’t even that big and half the grass doesn’t grow properly as the kids have killed it. I’m just lazy
