The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Well 2012 is going to be a huge year. My other half and I are having our first baby!!

Due in August and we're both really excited. Had our 12 week scan last week, and I was amazed at how vivid and clear the images were.

At that point it all became very real.

Aw mate - brilliant news!!! Fantastic stuff.

Congratulations mate. Nothing compares to it. Nothing.

Enjoy!!

Nice juan Machin. Get some sleep whilst you can

Cheers guys. We've started telling people now that she's 12 weeks along, and the reactions and support we're getting is fantastic.

It's funny, I thought I'd be bricking it, but I'm just not.

There's nothing to brick over mate, it all comes really natural.

And like Kenny says, grab as much shuteye as you can now because the first six months are literally murder.

Yeah, early nights aren't really a forte of mine. I'm sure that'll change rapidly though!

Not always. I have been blessed with 2 rather odd children who have both slept right through the night from the age of 2 weeks.

It's an exception to the rule, but it can happen!

Brilliant news! It really is a fantastic journey, there's nothing quite like it, make sure you enjoy everything and every moment.

Congratulations Machin.

My eldest didn't sleep until about 6 months and has slept all through the night ever since, and my youngest (6) slept form about 2 weeks until about 1 and has woken up virtually every night ever since.

What did you expect the whiskey to do?

or you are just a very deep sleeper and your wife has been going silently mad over the last couple of years..........

Well if it takes after my other half, (s)he'll cry all the time and wake up hours before I want to!

Great news Machin, delighted for you.
Key thing is get them into a rhythm...
Kids love a routine.
Show them where the kettle is, the tea bags Milk & Sugar, leave a mug out for them and the cereal in the bowl before you go to bed.

Then from anything around 6 weeks, train them to get their own breakfast.

Get's you and extra 45 minutes in bed.
Sorted.

Look at THE Dublin Drummer. Best kid in the world, now makes the best coffee in Dublin.
