The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

No, $#@! him, he had all afternoon to get in touch but didn't bother, I hope he never gets the chance to make another phone call.

Yeah, maybe he had a family emergency or something and had to dash home so couldn't call you back about your precious interview. He totally deserves to die, like.

How on earth did the "Happy thread" get to where it is now.

Way to take a joke dude.

I don't find someone saying they hope another human dies for no good reason a joke.

Anyway, I ordered some shoes off the internet the other day. They wanted £3.95 for guaranteed delivery by today, or no charge and they would be delivered by next Thursday at the latest. I went for the free delivery option and they turned up this morning anyway. I'll be spending my savings wisely on a pint of Guinness the neet.

I finally have the motivation to get back into shape and stick with it... I've been wanting a kettlebell trainer for awhile and have a consultation set up at the only gym in my area that has one who's certified. Also bought a really nice road bike for the path near my house-- eventually the hope is to be able to bike to work a few times a week (about 20 miles). Also been eating healthy for the most part, and cut back on booze.

Really looking forward to getting out the old bin of clothes out in a few months...

What sort of a diet is that! Cut out the booze! Pah!
Some good whiskies but most of your beers are lagers of one type or another aren't they T3ch?
And of course that nonesense made out of rice!

I didn't say eliminate, I merely said cut back. Which really, weight loss or not, needs to be done; I drink more than I should. Gained over 50lbs in two years because I drank all the time, then ate like shit when I got the munchies and didn't have my already weak control over snacking. So really, anytime I drank, I ended up taking in far more calories than the booze itself, even if I'd promised myself not to eat before hand.

For now I've cut back on portions for food, try to avoid eating late if possible, and try to avoid drinking during week nights. Along with obviously being more active.

I did switch exclusively to scotch awhile back to save on calories, I'm certainly a fan. Also drink a lot of Jameson on 2 cubes. There are certainly a number of American lagers, and I definitely enjoy some "crap American piss-water" from time to time, but the microbrewing scene in the US is massive. Lots and lots of quality breweries making all sorts of stuff. Last night I bought a wheat beer that aged with a ton of watermelon. Very interesting. I don't like hoppy beers so I tend to drink a lot of stouts and porters along with the lagers. Most places carry a significant number of imported beer, so we get a good selection of stuff from overseas as well. I'm really digging on the Belgian and Abby brews lately...

This is what I got for last weekend.

Fuck's sake! You're just showing off now...

That's kind of impressive T3ch, some nice stouts there and a couple of decent ales too.
Are those 33cl bottles or 500mls?
(Still can't decide in europe whether to go with cls or mls). But if they're 500 mls I'm really impressed.
Either way, how much would a bottle of decent ale cost, local rather than imported (shipping and importing and all of that)?

Over here in Ireland, I can get a decent bottle (500mls) of decent beer for €2 which is around $3 i think, give or take.
I can also get a really good ale (750mls) called Innis & Gunn from Scotland for €4.60.

How does that compare?

Great news folks. Though he is a former member of TWF, the Wagster has finally proposed to Kerry, his girlfriend, and she has said yes.

Congratulations to them both.

No, fuck him, he had all afternoon to get in touch but didn't bother, I hope he never gets the chance to make another phone call.

If he was from a recruitment agency he'd be on the phone to you like a shot to try to get you to an interview to boost his chance of commission, nothing more, nothing less. If in the meantime he got in touch with the hiring company and they didn't like your CV and told him not to bother that's probably why. Seems harsh but that'll just be him doing his job.

That is good news - please pass on my congrats to them both.

Kerry is a very quiet and lovely young lady. Christine and I delighted for them.

355ml. Are you asking prices for the store or a pub?

The cost of non-specialty imports really aren't terribly more expensive than a quality domestic microbrew. Some are definitely way more though, for example the 6-box of Belgiums I pictured was $20 (3x as much as a regular 6-pack)-- but it's also a much higher quality beer. All the beers in that picture ran me $70-- 2x "mix and match" 6-packs, 1x belgium mix, 1x 6-pack hard cider. About half of those were $5 for just a single bottle, which is very expensive. A quality, non-fancy 6-pack starts around the $10 mark (recently went up from about $8).

Mind you I live in a very expensive part of the US, but at the pub a pint of crap beer starts round $4+ and quality will run $7+. Where I'm from (Dallas, TX) is much more reasonable. Crap beer for $1-2 on special at more places than not, good beer around $4. Store prices largely the same.

Awesome news......

+1 :shakehand:
