Mrs Del Woppio and I arranged for a private scan a couple of days ago, and it was brilliant. So thorough and detailed it was unreal. We were shown hands, feet, face (we wanted to see if there was a midline defect like Alfie has), brain, individual heat valves (!) and all sorts. Such a great service, and really helped relax us. She must have said ‘perfectly normal’ 12 times which was a great relief after the challenges that Alfie faces. We were then given a DVD of the scan, and separate disk with about 40 different stills on. A bit pricey, but the detail they can go in to at 13 weeks, of a 7cm long foetus is astounding. Go back and get another one done at around 23 or 24 weeks Del. He/she will have filled out loads and will look much more like a 'normal' baby. At 13 weeks they're a bit skinny aren't they?
Mrs Del Woppio brought 6 guests with her, I had to hide my joy when two of them passed me their phones to take some pictures as they couldn't see!
