The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

I was half expecting to hear my first chiffchaff this morning, can’t be too long now. Not often the first day of spring feels like the first day of spring!

Been walking past some crocii on the way to work, but very early. Was nice to walk past them just now and see them all open in the sun.

The eldest great grandaughter competed in her first gymnastics comp since reaching 10 years old (in January) up against 12 & 13 year olds. Bronze in the asymetric bars, floor and overall score. Pretty good stuff.

Perfect time to step outside and look upwards. No confusing background stars just Jupiter and Venus very clear in the sky. Plus the wonderful crescent moon of course.

They’ll get a bit more difficult to spot later but right now they are really standing out.

Venus 4 o’clock from moon, Jupiter 10 o’clock (from here that is, although doubt it’s much different elsewhere in uk)

What’s that app again that helps you identify the, uhm, ‘stuff’ up there? Is it free?

I’ve got sky walk 2 and just downloaded Sky Tonight and that was the first use of that a moment ago so too early to make a recommendation, but they are both free with premium add-ons (which are seriously detailed and for the geeks with way more knowledge than me)

Mars is really easy to spot. Follow up and left from Orion and it's the red star at the bottom right of the L shaped set of 3 "stars".
