While going over our bank account this morning, suddenly remembered, we made our last mortgage repayment on 28th May. Bit of an anti climax tbh, was expecting a fanfare, flashing lights,xthe works but the mortgage account has just disappeared from our bank account.
Was hoping it would free up some cash for fun stuff but it will probably be soaked by cost of living rises. Still it's a big day and a long hard slog is over.

1st grandson born at 2.47 am this morning - all are doing well (though my son was less than totally coherant when he phoned me having had no sleep for 40+ hours)
