Off to India for a week next month. For work, but looks like there will be plenty of time to see a bit of the area. It coincides with the Calcutta test match too, so even though I'm on the other side of the country I hope I'll be able to get a taste of some Indian cricket hysteria.

I was in India last year during the World Cup. The whole country is passionate abouit cricket, and they love beating England. Just sit in your hotel bar, there will be wall to wall coverage, and strike up a conversation with pretty much anyone. If you've not been to India before, it will be an experience. It's everything you will have read about and more. The poverty is pretty hard to take, but you become immune surprisingly quickly. Oh, and take plenty of Diocalm.
