Christmas Day Dinner being booked today at the Mol. Mr Penguin has declined the offer and is going to Mummy's instead :)

When you get 100 Drumsticks in the post :)

But that you have to be good and only limit yourself to 1 a day :(

Finally had my broadband reconnected last night with a £20 refund from Virgin, i don't know whether it's frightening or just sad how much we rely on the internet in this day and age.

Trev, I think its very sad how much we rely on it tbh. So much so, I'm tempted to go for 2 weeks without it. Just to see if I can. And how hard it will be. Or how easy it will be. But then again, I might , and I might not . Well not this week anyway !

Mastering the art of mixing and making Ginger Wine. Even though it took several attempts last night and a headache this morning.

Finally committed to buying a new car today, so very happy, got a bostin' deal, a few extras and a tank full of petrol thrown in to boot for nowt!

What a stupid thing to do!
You'll never get the smell of petrol out of there!
It'll leak all down around the spare tyre, your hands'll smell when you used the tools...

Should have put it in the tank same as everyone else.

Result day today and checking my email it looks like Nottingham have accepted my as a student...their entry requirements was AAA...can only be a good thing right?? :)

Thanks! :) I really was not expecting to be able to get the grades to get in there, bloody hell! lol

Well done Hamlet! My biggest regret has always been not doing better on my A-levels, I got CCE I think it was - so AAA is a fantastic achievement.

In comparison, I'm just happy because I had a sausage, cheese and egg bagel from McDonalds this morning. Simple things...

I still stand by the fact that A-levels are the hardest thing you'll ever do too. I even found my third year of University easier - more stressful, but easier.

My mum said the same thing - guess that's comforting to know! :D

I think if you're going to University to study a subject you're passionate about (which is sort of the idea) it makes the whole thing a lot more enjoyable and easier. What are you going to study, Hamlet?

The end of my 3rd year of uni was solid, but otherwise I think you're right. Doing art A-Level was pretty cool though as the 'exam' was essentially 10 hours in a studio painting stuff (not 10 hours at once, it was cumulated over however long you wanted). We were even allowed music whilst we were working. Lots of Ocean Colour Scene was played.

My art history exam was bloody tough but I came away from that with an A so I was delighted.

What did you study at Uni, Ian? I admit the workload of third year is difficult, and you tend to have endless nightmares about your dissertation (in fact, near the deadline of mine I woke up in the middle of the night regularly). Oh, and you don't really have a social life for 7-8 months! I did boring A-levels - English Literature, ICT and French.

Well, as of right now I've a choice between Natural Science at Nottingham or Zoology at Lincoln if I want to stay in a relatively local area...I'll have to think a bit on that!

It could be though that I got AAB and they made an exception for me however - still great grades I know but if I got an A in Biology...bloody hell, I wasn't expecting to get an A in Biology!

That sounds awesome. I chose to stay local simply because of the cost, and I like my "home comforts" far too much - but moving away to University is a once in a lifetime and experience and all of my school friends who did it have never regretted it, so it's your call! I'm pretty sure Nottingham is in the Russell Group of Universities?
