The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Happy that my kids have gone two whole weeks without a TV with a minimum of moaning and only very occasional visits to I-Player. Quite amazing how much more creative and engaged with the world around them they are. Homework gets done, dog gets played with, games are invented - really nice to see.

Having said that, it's exhausting and I'm really looking forward to getting the bloody thing back so I can veg out again!

Its obviously an age thing then ?

I guess so, I don't have a lot of time for older music to be honest, even stuff I've liked just a few years previous often irritates me. Maybe I'm just not one for nostalgia.

Kerrang used to be a welcome escape though, unless there's a presenter I like on Radio 1 then there isn't much point as the music isn't really my cup of tea. Now that's gone so I'm stuck with some tosser like Nick Grimshaw playing wank music on my morning commute. Sad times when you're deciding which radio station is best due to the guest on the show.

I agree with Machin. Re-Load is shite.

Wasting My Hate is as good as those you mentioned Paddy. IMO of course.

Reload is a lazy, half arsed excuse for an album (first 2 tracks aside) and I havent heard any album since (I do like their cover of 'Whisky in thr Jar', however) I have a weird relationship with Metallica as I only own the 4 albums from ...And Justice for All to Reload and of those 4 I only like the Black Album & Load! When I got into rock music the Black Album was massive and I absolutely LOVED it. I then bought ...And Justice for All and just couldn't get into it so that sort of put me off earlier Metallica. I had Ride the Lightning & Master of Puppets on casette copied from the library (don't tell Lars I didn't pay for them!) but haven't heard either album for about 15 years, for all I know I could think they are brilliant but I can't remember half the songs on them!

So to sum up, don't listen to any opinion I have on Metallica as I am a part-time fan :)

As for Planet Rock - I havent heard much but what I have heard has bored me immensely. I have no problem with listening to older stuff, most of it is better than what Kerrang used to play, but what I've heard so far hasn't impressed me.

Back from hospital. Fibreglass pot removed and now to wear a Pneumatic Medical Fracture Boot until I can rebuild my leg muscles but at least I can take it off for a rest. The hard work starts here

Just over 4 weeks until I go to see The Eagles.

A little bit of excited wee escapes at the mere thought .

Seeing my niece Olivia go off to the prom with her young man .

So proud of her and absolutely love that kid to bits .

Looking good Mike - you'll be running marathons in no time.

That left leg needs some serious Physio to build it back up Peter. Not so much ParkinsLeftFoot as DarlosLeftFoot!

Have to say that that pic looks like 2 different people with their legs next to each other.

I didn't think that muscle loss happens that quick - how long was the cast on then?

Have you got a skipping rope ?

I can't put all my weight on it yet without falling over. Tiny steps I think Papper. Skipping in 3 to 4 weeks. I have a Pneumatic Fracture Boot that I have to wear until I'm told otherwise

Hour and half until party time .Couldn't have asked for a better day weatherwise , but whoever put me in charge of making the Cocktails must be :screwy:

Redoing the inside of my house, well, most of the big jobs anyway is almost done.
Just finished painting the lounge & the Bedroom. Flooring complete throughout.
Just got to go round the last 2 rooms and repaint the window frame and line out them both where my father in law missed. then go round and take all the paint off the windows where he hasn't noticed he's wiped it.

Have also been working and then doing all the jobs around the place that need doing on a day to day basis, as well as looking after my 12 week old daughter with sleep and feeding and entertaining... Absolutely bollixed!

Next I need my big Drummer to help me scrape and paint the outside......
