The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Mind you, in a couple of days time I may be posting on the ' Annoy ' thread. Depends how much he's moaning , getting on me tits and under me feet .

You should not moan about it - its the only way you know we are still alive (or there!)

Oh I know he's there alright cos he leaves caps off beer bottles in the cutlery drawer, and things stuffed down the chair, so I know he's still alive and there !

You didn't marry me, did you ????

By the sounds of it, I very well could have ! Do you leave ya boxers on the floor every night, next to ya slippers ? !!

Being asked to be God Father to my buddies baby who is due in 4 weeks time, even though I haven't seen in him about 10 years! :)

FINALLY sorting my Dad's estate and seeing the money begin to move. It has been a financially fraught few months and I can at last see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Just need the pension companies and holiday property bond to move on their side of things and I think I will actually have the whole job done (bar flogging the house which is going to move at its own pace I guess). Being a sole executor is utterly exhausting but there is a lot of satisfaction in having carried out Dad's last requests now.

Outstanding birthday weekend. Decent weather. Mexico approaches.

Birthday pub crawl in Liverpool on Sat

Life is dare I say it, pretty good.

Agreed. Cracking birthday weekend.

Now if I can just get the trip to Singapore booked. Which malicious hater of my wallet put a grand prix on the weekend we want to go...

My lovely husband came home brandishing a bottle of Lanson black label, complete with a tennis shirt bottle cooler. I now also have Strawberries. Life is good!

Sitting here at 02-55 waiting for my transfer to the airport to start hopefully a good fortnights holiday in Spain.

Happy that I was able to respond to being a sub again by coming on at half time today and running the game, probably the best I've played for a while.

Just had a fantastic chat with one of my best friends who lives in New Zealand now. Rambling on about crap on Skype is ace.

I don't really enjoy gardening, and it's been really hard work - shifting gravel and filling in a pond ain't no picnic - but it feels very satisfying to have finally gotten some turf laid using very little money and my own two hands! I've spent £26 on top soil, £27 on turf and about £12 on rubble bags. Not too bad really. As you can see, it's not the highest quality grass, and I won't be hosting any crown green bowls anytime soon, but for somewhere to laze around on a sunny day and somewhere for Bea to crawl/runaround it should do nicely. That's providing it roots properly and actually grows!

Nice work Machin, I bet you've had a beer whilst looking and admiring the work you have done. I've done something similar in the past and it filled me with pride but then dread sets in with the next project that is given to be done. Keep watering it and I'm sure it will be OK.

Oh yes, a bottle of Lidl's finest imported lager capped off a job well done :D

Water water water, Machin. Especially in the joins.

Yeah, gave it a good sloshing last night. Was still damp this morning so will give it another watering when I get back from work.

I am impressed with that Machin. I am useless in the garden. I'd like to extend our 'patio' (it is currently only 8 slabs) but am worried I'll botch the job!

What's the worst that can happen :eek:hnoes:

Just spend an hour or two reading up on it on the internet and you'll have a good idea of whether you can do it or not.

Put down a decent membrane that will keep the weeds out, and invest in at least one, preferably two spirit levels and it shouldn't be too difficult
