The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I think Vítor will want to play a bit more of a higher line than we've seen so far eventually, we all know how that usually goes with Sá. He can't do it.

We've clearly been trying to replace him for a long time now but the £10M spent on Johnstone confuses things. We might see the need to sell Johnstone this summer to try and claw back some portion of that. If he spends another year on the bench or in bed with man flu behind Sá or a new keeper he's going to be worth nothing in a year.

Players I'd definitely want here next season:
Mosquera
Agbadou
J Gomes
Andre
JSL
R Gomes
Bellegarde

First 11 players I'd move on IF a replacement was signed first
Toti
Sa

First 11 players I'd sell if there is a market
Cunha (more that we will)
RAN

Everyone else is a sliding scale of not fussed either way to actively want gone

Sweeping up behind a proper high line was something Sa's been good at - his problem has been when the gap behind the defence was smaller and lead to him being rash diving at people's feet. He was really good in his first season coming out to things further out though from memory - particularly in comparison to the way Patricio floundered in those situations previously.

I think we need more end product from a RWB with a midfield 2 of Andre and Gomes and playing inside forwards. 0 goals and 4 assists for the amount of possession he has in the final third isn't good enough. If the plan was to go to a back 4 then I'd be on board with bringing him back.

Rodrigo always seems to have good end product, whether he's good enough defensively though is another matter.

Wouldn't be looking to move Toti on. We do need another left sided centre back to compete with him, though.

I don't think he'll have many options if he wants the traditional Sky 6. Can't see City, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal for various reasons, so that only leaves Utd.

He’d be an idiot to go to United. Could quite easily see him going to Forest but Cunha himself clearly thinks he’s too big for them.
He is tbf. He's only got one shot at this and he needs to be careful. Man U look years away from competing and Forest have one season wonder written all over them. Arsenal is the best move he could realistically get. He'd get in the side and they consistently finish in the champions league positions.

Not sure he's got the right style to suit playing for a regimented manager of Pep's ilk so would rule out City, Chelsea and Arsenal on that basis. Could fit at Liverpool perhaps but would probably need to shift one of Gakpo or Diaz first as that left side would look a bit over inflated. Could replace Son at Spurs I guess now he's not looking the force he once was - if they've got the headroom to spend that much.

He feels a good fit tactically for Liverpool, much better numbers than Diaz, but obviously a very different player and they probably don't want a player with his mentality. However, I think he'd settle down the main character syndrome at a bigger club.

Edit: ha, Mark beat me.

United aren’t going to be shit forever and it’s Man United. He should go there and will fit Amorims system well. No point going to Forest, they aren’t giving him a big contract and have just as much chance being midtable next season. None of the other traditional big 6 will want him / pay for him.

I'd rather he went to Utd personally tbh as I can't stand Arsenal and would puke if he turned up at the City Ground (and that would just show him up as a mercenary to me rather than just someone who wanted to test themselves at a top club)

Is there a chance he goes to Saudi?
