The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

We want at least one number 10 who can beat players and a new keeper, plus replacements for Semedo and Sarabia but a major spend isn't anticipated, wonder how that will turn out?

Mendes loans and a chunk of the Cunha money. Huge amount of wages being freed by Semedo and Sarabia departing.
I expect us to be heavily linked with Ansu Fati who is being pushed out by Barca.

Larsen fee covered by sale of RAN and Bueno a free replacement for him.

Cunha, Semedo and Sarabia will be about 400k a week saved in salary!

Yeah I probably misunderstood the term 'spend'. If he means spend within what we get for Cunha etc then it'll probably be OK, it's early for me!

Will be sad to see Nels go. Plus he's really stepped it up after being given the armband.

Wonder who will be the new captain. Agbadou?
Yeah I'm gunna miss Semedo, I know he has his limitations but his attitude, effort and defensive skills (high balls at the back post apart) have been excellent. He's quick and runs as hard on 90 minutes as he does at 1, rarely injured either.
Think you're probably right about Agba, seems calm but strong minded, he's gunna be another fan favourite.

I can see us not bringing anybody in to replace Semedo, and even RAN if he goes.

I think they'll look at R Gomes on the right & H. Bueno on the left as first choice, Lima & Doc offer some back up on the right and R Gomes can switch to the left. They'll justify it by being focused on improving other areas of the pitch that are more in need......... which hopefully they will actually do this year.

You know, I'm not against it to a degree. Kind of a mirror of those early Mick years, young attacking players, bags of endeavour, I think it provides a more forgiving environment/atmosphere and helps the bond between players and fans.

New
Mosquera Agbadou Toti
Rodrigo Andre Gomes Bueno
New New
Larsen

More than good enough. Just need to get the recruitment right.

I don't want us wedded to three CHs. It's fine as an option, it shouldn't be the automatic default.

Vítor doesn't want it either, he's said as such and has only really used 3 centre halves in specific scenarios when we're protecting a lead or in the cup to rest players.

If it is going to be those 3 players he's going to be asking a lot more of the outside centre halves in possession than is usually expected of guys with that kind of profile.

I was thinking the same when people were discussing how to get Cuhna into the starting eleven for the next game. Simple, drop Doc and go 4 atb.
