The Summer 2024 Transfer Thread.

Yeah I’d expect £37m to be accepted as long as we’re guaranteed that amount and then a couple of unlikely add ons pushing it over £40m.

Genuinely delighted for Maidenhead if this happens, will be absolutely game changing for them!

Their Christmas party will be banging this year that's for sure.

If he goes that is.....

Just googled their turnover and it's around £1.8m.

Theyll be getting double that and maybe more in one hit. Massive for them.

Well looking at their ground for some scope... yeah that will be huge. Not sure if an owner could yoink it away or anything but hopefully the club actually get to use it. They will be loving these new reports!

Yeah it's amazing for a club like that. Always felt a bit for Grays tbh, they were so honourable when United came sniffing, and I'm sure they'd have been expecting a sell on windfall at some point had injuries not ruined him

Some pictures posted on twitter of that Dave from talking wolves apparently getting messages from Hobbs about transfers. Ridiculously unprofessional to be giving him information if the pictures are real. No idea if they are but he does seem to have started commenting on who we are / aren't interested in/bid for as if he thinks he has some knowledge from someone at the club.

Well that would see Hobbs fired for breach of commercial confidentiality you would think

£37m is not that much in the modern game when you see how much some of these youngsters have been going for.

Again, its just personal opinion, i think we will miss him far more than people think, not for his captaining abilities but for his defensive quality. Hope we manage to get a good enough replacement in.

Most of those deals aren't real though. 1 club gives money and a player to another, they then give it back.

He isn't particularly great defensively. Easily replaced.

Replaced for £500 and you even get 20 of him...

I think he's mostly solid defensively. The problem for me is that the bits that aren’t covered by 'mostly' he's a liability. He switches off and is likely to give away a goal at least once per game.

I've still not forgiven him for his egregiously bad defending that gifted Almiron a goal (can't even remember if it was last season or the season before). It was some of the worst defending I think I've ever seen.
