The Mirror say today that Afobe isn't coming as Nuno doesn't think he's got enough goals in him.

Hate to say it but he's right!

Byebye to to Danny Batth, Miranda, Bonatini, Doherty, Douglas, who are also not premier or unlikely to be. Sorry, have to be harsh. We are no longer the club hoping for 17th. That ship appears to have sailed under fosun who will cut the cloth accordingly.

If you want be rid of Batth, Miranda, and Leo, fine. I think Douglas and Doherty (even him) have earned the chance to at least show they are or aren't Prem quality.

Also, quotes from Jack Butland that make me want even less to do with that deal:

"[Lambert]'s had an extremely difficult job," said Butland. "He inherited a squad where, unfortunately, there was ill-discipline and players you can not rely on.

"I think the whole recruitment process needs looking at to be honest. We've gone into a game [on Saturday]-- and over the last few months -- with half the squad dotted around the world not even involved.

"There's been transfers who aren't even part of the squad for all kinds of reasons, whether it be discipline, whether it be lack of performance. So you've got to look at that -- what decisions are being made and the type of characters.

"Too many of the recent investments have been completely unused and that's unacceptable, so for any one who has signed or any changes happen that's got to be looked at because it's been farcical really."

Pointing too many fingers, Jacko.

I'd sign Leo just because otherwise I'd worry about the amount of players coming in and the difficulty that can cause. I'd also sign N'Diaye for the same reason.

That's nonsense. That's saying "I'll sign players who aren't good enough because they're mates with everyone."

Neither Leo nor Benik Afobe are good enough. Afobe will have a top career in the Champ - whoever doesn't go up from the play-offs will spend £14m on him - but he is not a Premier League striker. And I have already told my Stoke supporting mate to expect the arrival of Danny Batth

But he’s right. Stoke’s recruitment has been fucking appalling.

He's absolutely right. But the press is the last place to make it known.

I'd say he's leaving Stoke based on that. He's bang on the money

I think if any Wolves player has said that to the press about Johnson or O’Hollywood we wouldn’t have had an issue with it. Butland won’t be there next year so the ramifications will be minimal and he really does have a point. I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I also think he values those principles as well (i.e. strong characters, club ethos, commitment etc) and would look for a club who match that

I've got no issues with him saying it in the press, its all true and he's left it till the seasons done and dusted, no doubt he'll be off soon

Mark Cartwright is Stoke's Technical Director of football and in charge of all recruitment. I'm amazed jokers like him and Thelwell manage careeers at football clubs. The Peter principle in action.

Controversial opinion time, I think Thelwell does a decent job.

Taken from the BBC

Stoke boss Paul Lambert says if Wolves bid £35m for England goalkeeper Jack Butland, 25, it would only be enough to buy one of his gloves. (Birmingham Mail)

That prat won't have the power to accept or reject any offer soon enough.

That’s how I take it as well, I’m all for that kind of player.
