Slightly surprised at the sale of Douglas, whilst many of us felt he may not have made it in the prem he was surely worthy of a shot, even if it was from the bench. However, he may not have been happy to be a bench player I guess and the rumours of him and Nuno falling out may have contributed.

And I definitely do not want Norris as our back up on the prem, he was dreadful today for the 2nd goal.

Hope so too, Ruddy is the ideal backup for us.

Edit - very odd he didn't travel today though.

I saw that. Bit of a concern, but at least he was in Wolverhampton rather than Brizzle. I will be so fucking very pissed off if he joins the scum from Ashton Gate.

We must have someone lined up as much as I rate Vinny it's a big ask for him to be main LWB at the moment. Jonny is very right footed from what I saw today he is definitely competition for Doc, perhaps Zinchenko is coming after all??

His delivery was absolutely wicked, it's true, but is it really a step down to have Neves and/or Moutinho on those set pieces? I wouldn't expect so.

They’re both right footed so yeah. Totally different type of delivery and technique.

He needs a loan and regular games at a lower level there were shades of Lonners when that cross went in. I would keep Ruddy.

But no less quality.

It's not always about quality as much, as has been seen with different players at Wolves over the last, it's having the right fit. Neves, Moutinho or whoever else might be just as capable of putting the ball in the right areas but if their delivery isn't of the same form, regardless of it's accuracy, then it might not bring the same results, much in the same way that the same type of delivery or service isn't going to suit every striker like we saw when Afobe struggled to really settle into this current team.

Who or whatever we bring in I hope Giles gets a chance, he's been very good in every pre-season game I've seen and deserves a chance or a loan to the championship.

I agree with you on how he's looked preseason. At some point young players need to be played and I think he's good enough to be given a go.

Giles looks very good. We shall see, but I imagine we will be looking to get him a loan at the highest level we can. No more dossing in the lower leagues. Championship has to be the aim, unless we sent him abroad to a low end Ligue Un or Bundesliga outfit.

I think we need to avoid the panic button before we see the conclusion of the summer business. We don't let Douglas go without something being sorted.

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!

Personally I think we're getting into players of such quality that they'll be able to adjust to each other much more easily than many of our past players.

Never expected us to score today from any of Costa's left footed corners. When Baz took a corner I expetced us to score every time. Anyway he's gone & very best of luck to him. Some absolutely cracking goals & I'll always remember the tweet saying Villa had signed John Terry and we'd signed a bloke from Trabzonspor...

Best of luck to him, slightly concerned by the reports of Jonny Otto being weak with his actual left foot. Having that overlap man being left footed is key for the wingback, not that fussed about elsewhere but fb/wb it's a must for me.

Douglas:
“The move happened quite fast, Wolves took the decision to let me know I wasn’t going to be part of their plans which was hard to take at first, but life goes on"

I was under the illusion it was a 50/50 decision after the recent meeting?

I guess it was a "You won't be 1st choice next season and this bid has come in for you, up to you if you go or not" As a player, being told you are no longer 1st choice is basically a no longer in our plans comment. He certainly wasn't put with the other actual not in our plans group of players

Well, we had the deal in place for Jonny and Nuno clearly likes what he sees from Giles (hence playing him so much) and Vini (hence signing him despite not playing much last season).

Whatever else I think of Barry, it's probably safe to say he's at his ceiling.
