Could be worse; nine teams in the CFL and only three miss out on the playoffs each year...
 
Aren’t the NBA playoffs 8 teams from each 15 team conference?

Of course 8 actually works with 1v8, 2v7 etc and a home advantage for those finishing higher in the majority of games. Wildcards do encourage a bit of bloat.

Another draw, 1-1 away at rock bottom Osnabrück having been in front for 75 minutes.
 
Sampdoria have had a revival and up to 10th in Serie B no chance of a promotion push but no real chance of going down to Serie C just a season of stability.
