The Second Club Thread

Smith would be ok for that level wouldn't he?
Apologies if that's a bit patronising.

I’d certainly rather have him than Lampard.

We don’t necessarily need a tactical genius, just someone who understands that we can’t copy City and Arsenal’s tactics every week.

Smith confirmed.

Hopefully goes a bit better than the last Dean I suffered through.

Did well at Walsall for their level. Did OK at Brentford but Frank took the model of the club to much bigger and better things that Smith was ever going to achieve. Had a talent too good for the division that took Villa on a ridiculous run to get promoted but would have gone straight back down if it wasn't for Covid and an error of officials/goal line technology. Had one over achieving season before it went tits up at Villa followed by a failure at Norwich. Cowardly spell at Leicester in trying to keep them up at the end of last season and deservedly went down.
I hope it goes well for Charlotte Alan but I won't hold my breath!

You're certainly going to get nothing innovative from him tactically. His sole idea at Villa was "give it to Grealish".

Norwich fans despised him.

To say he’s not who I wanted is understating it, but given the other names that were involved I can’t be too sore.

Real Owen Coyle at Houston vibes.

Others in town seem to be into it. Hopefully they’ll be more right than me!

We had people saying Hoddle, Saunders, Zenga and Lage were a really good idea.

St Pauli drew AGAIN at the weekend. No word from my contacts as yet as to whether Glenn Hoddle has been spotted in Hamburg but I have my suspicions. Get off my turf, Glenn.

Not top any more, usurped by Kiel.

Trying to not jinx my Scottish team... Raith won at Dundee Utd to open up a 5 point gap at the top of the Championship although Dundee have a game in hand.

Won the last 7 games, unbeaten in the last 13 with 11 wins

Time to Dean Smith saying “siege mentality”: Less than 15 minutes.

Nearly jinxed Raith!

The Scottish Championship, much like the English one, is a league where any team can beat the other.

Home vs Ayr Utd and the keeper, Maciej Dabrowsk, decided to channel his inner Andy Lonergan with his worst performance of the season.

0-1 down, 1-1, Ayr player send off and then 2-1 up at half time. Game over? Nah!

3-2 down by the 63rd minute and 4-3 down after 85 but managed to grab yet another stoppage time goal to draw 4-4. Dundee Utd were away vs bottom of the table Queens Park and only managed a 0-0 draw so no real damage done. Enjoy...

Sampdoria losing at home to bottom of the table Feralpisalo 2-3 today in Serie B, just need a wolves fuck up tomorrow to make it a merry Xmas.
