The Rugby Thread

Ireland not quite the same force when missing one or two southern hemisphere bods.
That's not true . It's just miles on the clock for this year as they head down the far side of the hill . Happens all top sides eventually .
No Porter , Furlong , Henshaw or Keenan last night - all injured , all born and bred Irish .

No Hansen, Lowe or Aki either 👍

Lowe was available - but wasn't picked in the squad ( he wasn't injured ) . Aki is near retirement now ( was suspended anyway , but is no longer first choice ) . Hansen is injured , but his mother was born and raised over here in Cork , before her family emigrated to Australia . He therefore is not one of these ' project ' players , as they are called .
You have to be 5 years in a new country now I nearly certain ( rather than 3 ) , before you can play for that new country . That will knock it on the head for a lot of players .
We're in transition , it will take time . We had some really strong u 20 sides over the last 6/7 years . They are starting to come through now , but even then it can take 2 years for them to really settle in .

England giving Wales a pasting. To be expected but it takes the edge off the football disappointment.

After a winter supporting Wolves and England's cricket team the rugby today was a blessed relief even if Wales were dreadful.

Wales are just nowhere near the standard required to compete at the moment.
Scotland again mentally weak, no doubt they’ll look 10x better next Saturday though.
