The Rugby Thread

Gloucester v Bath yesterday was personally horrible as nobody likes their team getting dicked by seventy but a huge thing was the conversation between referee and TMO being played out over the PA so the crowd knows what is going on. Football - look at this with VAR.

Well England won by reasonably comfortable score but I thought it was a disappointing performance overall. Lots of good approach play, forcing Australia into multiple mistakes but nowhere near enough points on the board, especially first half. Australia with 2 sin bin periods and we didn't come away with a points increase in either of them, in fact a deficite in the first one, really poor that.
As for the Aussies, quite how they got away with so many penalties without the ref even giving them a warning I don't know, plus they questioned nearly every decision.
Still, a win is a win I suppose.

Really pleased for Bevan Rodd. He could've played for Scotland but chose a harder route and has got his rewards.

Should be in the squad for a few years now.

Ye
It was a good game, well 0layed Ireland.
Standard of reffing in Rugby compared to football is night and day...it helps that the players show a lot more respect to the officials
Yep we played really well and by fat the better side, regular as clockwork we are peaking right in the middle of a world cup cycle when rest of the major nations are on down time before the serious shit starts.
As for referees, its a lots to do with respect also a good lot to do with communication we can all hear the thought process and discussions, we might not agree with them but we know how they came to their conclusion.

Wales looking at playing their home games in this year's 6 nations in England due to covid restrictions.

Only allowed limited attendances in Wales and they need the cash (as do all the unions) from a full house.

Wembley not available so Tottenham a possibility

Tottenham have two home games out of the three weekends of Wales six nations home fixtures.

Quite. Easiest thing would be for Drakeford to open up Wales but he is incredibly cautious.

Depends if Levy wants his pitch cut up I guess.
I think they play on the American Football pitch which is underneath Spurs main pitch. Doesn't damage the football pitch at all.

It's an incredible piece of engineering.

Just got to conform to world rugby standards, there's a couple of top teams play on them and they are becoming more prevalent at the community game level as it stops the glut of games being postponed during winter and saves the endless maintenance costs

Loads of joint problems associated with them though and I'm not sure I'd want to play on one
