The Rugby Thread

If today's French team turns up England will put at least 35 points on them. If today's Italy team rolls up, the Welsh will probably score sixty plus. Going to be tight.

The french will be more bothered about stopping england winning than anything else.

Saw Wales last night were 13/2 to win the six nations, think that is at least worth a few quid. I can see them racking up a big score in Rome 40-50pts win, especially now Parisse and the two Italian centres are out. If they did pressure would be on the other two to win by over 20pts.

Ireland wont hammer Scotland, there style of play does not allow for cutting loose and the Scots haven't really been hammered by anyone so far despite losing all the games. Depend then on which France will turn up at Twickenham and I cant see them rolling over to lose by 20 pts and allowing England to win the championship.

(Of course if it pisses down in Rome my theory will go out the window)

I hate to admit it, as an England supporter, but I think your theory is sound Donegal Wolf.

I'm surprised Wales aren't favourites for the 6 Nations now, as they have by far the easiest game against a weakened Italy side.
I feel Ireland will win but probably only by 10pts or so and France are coming to Twickenham for 'Le Crunch' with their tails up. I think England will win, but only by a few points.

So I think this is going to be the closest finish to a 6 Nations for years and I will be glued to the TV all afternoon. :)

Parling to start for England in place of Attwood who is not even on the bench. Easter on the bench instead.
Steve Walsh to referee, so the scrums will be even more interesting.

I'm now a signed up member of the theory and have the slip to prove it. On your heads be it!

Nearly time for decision day in the six nations. Quite excited about this.

I'm bricking it!

Think it will all come down to how well Wales can release their backs - they've not been the most expansive scorers this season

Big things being made about the points difference but the main reason Wales are behind is we haven't played Italy yet. Be nice to run in a hatful of tries and put the pressure on those to follow.

Top stat from BBC: Only once in the last 9 meetings have Wales beaten Italy by more than 25 points.....

That seems way light. 4 times recently was mentioned on the tv coverage.
