The Rugby Thread

Got out of jail with that display, thought it was gone.
40 odd phases in injury time before sexton knocks over a drop goal from 40 odd yards

Wales were far better than Scotland, who didn't turn up.

Ireland did what was necessary at the end of the game against France. It shouldn't have been necessary but they carried it out brilliantly to win a poor game.

We'll see what tricks and gamesmanship Italy will get up to this afternoon to try and reduce England's score.

England should win by 60 points.

I was hugely and pleasantly surprised by that Wales performance. I expected Scotland to beat us soundly, and I predicted a 4th place finish at the very best to DW before the game started. We were pretty deadly in attack.

Just when you expect Scotland to do something they perform like that, not as bad as the Twickenham debacle last year.
Wales were in top form and will need to repeat that again on Saturday, I’d be surprised if anyone did a grand slam can see Ireland and Wales losing at Twickenham and England possibly losing away to Scotland or France.

Excellent start :)

"England possibly losing away to Scotland" really ????

So much for straight put ins at the scrum. Lasted all of 15 mins. Nice try but utterly shit refereeing.

What a super try by Italy. Didn't expect that at all. They are playing some good stuff.

Tredman is absolutely right about the crooked feed though - that should have been dealt with

It really boils my shit, makes a mockery of one of the best parts of rugby.

Nice try from England.

Very good run by Farrell to finish but the front row handling in the build up was really impressive. Good stuff by England there.

Nice spot by the TMO on that forward pass there. Commentators very happy it was spotted. They didn't think the pass for the England "try" when it was dropped over the line was forward though, even though it was even more blatant.

I might have said this once or twice before in this thread, but it's really time to say thanks and good bye to Mike Brown

Possibly. But that is a great finish to somehow get the ball down.

However, to return to my comms mention, I should point out that one-eyed commentary is a pox on the six nations. And I will hold my hands up and say that, bar Andy Nichol, Jonathan Davies is the worst offender.

That #8 of England is a bit rapid...

Turning into a very good win for England now. Comprehensive, although the defence for the Italy tries can definitely be improved upon.

Can't moan at seven tries, but the defence was too narrow for both of Italy's tries. (May's defence is rubbish IMO)

Watson played well but I thought Sam Simmonds was MOM.

Farrell's tee kicking was middling at best. Needs to watch Halfpenny's kicks against Scotland which were impeccable.
