The Royals

All these people queueing with kids, I mean young kids. How selfish! & why aren't the kids at school ffs?

Because, Mr Jelly, just like that woman on the tv this morning with lovely daughters around 7 & 9, she decided they were coming to see the coffin last night and got a bloody train at 2330, got to London at 0330 and joined the queue and were being interviewed in the queue at 0830, that's why!
They seemed bright enough but the youngest one said her legs were hurting...
They'd been in the queue for around 5 hours....
And wasn't the only one!
Did you see the girl (19 ish) who flew in from Connecticut just so she could 'feel the love that these people had for their Queen'.
2 minutes she had in there, then she's back to the airport...

And the news says ‘look at all those people doing as they’re told to do, because their glorious leader is dead’ when it’s North Korea, can’t see the difference at the minute tbh, I’m bored of it all, and no doubt there’ll be a week or so of it still on the news after Monday , breaking news, queen still dead, likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.

I’ll be awaiting the knock on the door off the police, because GCHQ and Mi6 are reading this.

Taking young kids down to queue for hours excepted, I don't see the problem - genuinely. If people want to do that, let them. Sure, I think they're crazy for doing so but no doubt plenty of them would find the notion of spending x hundred pounds each year watching live football a bit silly.

Daft things like the Centerparcs fiasco - now that's fucking ridiculous. But I don't see any harm with people wanting to take time out to pay their respects to the queen if that's their bag.

Apart from the fact that they are not being told to do it, they are going of their own volition?

As Langers says, if that's what people want to do then where's the problem?

We can only hope :) might stop you posting on a topic you're 'so bored with' multiple times a day.
Do what I do, Cricket really doesn't bother me, so guess what, I don't go on the cricket thread, when there's a test match on I don't watch it on telly or tune the radio in

It would have been massively annoying when the norm was for most people to only have 4/5 channels to choose from (which isn't that long ago, Freeview didn't even exist 20 years ago). Not really now.

Are Warwickshire really going for the victory against Somerset? Sibley and Davies caught on the boundary earlier but its still doable.

Oops sorry wrong thread. As for the lying in state, I'm all for people being free to do as they like.

That's not what they're saying at all is it?

Fair point. That’s me told, oops I posted again, doh!

The Queen moves quicker than Dom Sibley

Every fucking news outlet made it clear queues were going to be fucking massive. I have little sympathy. Get the tykes back in school.

I have sympathy for the kids dragged there.
Wonder if the schools will issue fines?

I'm not interested and guess what, it hasn't had any effect on my life whatsoever. The only thing that would have bothered me is if the game on Saturday had been postponed, but even then I'm sure I'd have battled through ok.

I say we forfeit on the basis that we're all still too upset and take the 0-3 defeat and whatever fine it is. Will probably be better than what we'll actually end up with.

You aren't allowed to say that. To the gallows with you, you republican scallywag.
