The actress who played Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 film with Gene Wilder died today as well. Aged 62. Verucca Salt and Mike TeeVee commented on it. Only way I knew until the beeb ran a story.

Oh my God I was looking him up on IMDB the other day as I was wondering what he was up to, I am the angel of death !!

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Hauer certainly rewrote it, adding the tears in the rain line.

Nowt wrong with Sheeran or Coldplay, even if you don't like their music. At least they write and perform all their own stuff.

Both dull as fuck though, even that ed sheeran tomato ketchup advert annoys me, I invented a new taste for food, err no,you just put red sauce on it! He has the odd lyric that jars, that song with Justin bieber, with the chimps doing the ooh ooh ooh in the chorus, has the lyric "I never wear a suit and tyre" yea neither does anyone else, unless you're Stompi Moeketsi in early 80s Soweto and you've upset Winnie Mandela and she's got her "football club" to sling a cross ply around your neck and set it alight(I'm aware he sings tie, it's not attire, there's an and in the middle, but the phrasing has it as tyre to fit the rhythm)
Coldplay, dull plodding music, with 6th form level wank poetry lyrics," lights will guide you home and ignite your bones" yea ok, I'll walk home In the dark I like my bones to not be on fire.
they also have the honour of being one of two bands whose gigs I left early because they were terrible, civic hall just before parachutes was released and they were touted as rightly as it turned out as the next big thing, they were awful, for the reasons above. The other band was sleeper, they were dull as well and completely blown off stage by the support act Rialto, who then vanished without trace.

Probably not the right thread for this, but I never got this argument. It would suggest Elvis, Aretha, Frank Sinatra err... The Monkees... were of less value than Ed Sheeran. Surely not?
