I agree re. Matt Monroe but I`m biased being British :)

Not that sudden to be fair, he has been battling cancer for many years.
I think he believed it went at one stage, but returned, sadly.

How’s you pav? You safe at the minute? And do you need to be worrying about the fires?
No waving your arse at the the planes like last time, they’ve enough to be dealing with

North of the island (my bit) not got much left to burn, since the last one, but the south burning now.
Big danger too much ash acting as fertiliser means the shrubs and bracken and stuff is 2 metres high and burns like a race car, so watching that, though with 44c here at my gaff for over a week, not much i can do about it but keep watch and hope to react in time.
But its kin hot.

Trev had a tendency to lose it a bit as Blues manager (remember one particularly epic rant when they lost to PNE in the playoffs about which end the penalties were at) but it was because he had a genuine affinity for the club, he properly cared. Seemed a nice bloke, I only remember the very end of his playing career.

I met him once, when I ws a kid. My dad had a small sports shop, and Trevor Francis was at a promotional event. He was really approachable - had more time for kids who were football fans than adults there on business, and came across as a really nice guy. No airs and graces either, from what I recall.

I think I recall that - Was Moyes manager at Preston at the time?

Just watching the signing press conference for him. Cloughie in a red leather jacket and carrying a squash racquet 😂

First million pound player was big news when I was a teenager, terrific player, very sad.

I grew up a Blues fan, my grandad signed Trevor Francis for Birmingham as a 15 year old, he was my idol growing up. Often forgotten that he made nearly half of his career appearances for Birmingham and was there for 9 years. Beset by injuries in his later career otherwise he would be remembered as one of England’s greatest.
