The R.I.P. Thread

Gauntlet was the one I was trying to remember! This whole thread has brought back a whole bunch of memories from being a kid I'd forgotten about.
mrs jelly was given a mega drive classic games console a few years ago. apparently in her yoot she was addicted to playing columns (it is a bit addictive when you get a chance to play). The family weren't impressed when I found Gauntlet on it and started hogging the machine.

Golden axe was another that occupied too much of my time.

Golden Axe was ridiculously hard.

A friend of mine built a mini arcade machine with a simulator in it with Gauntlet, Golden Axe, 1942, Jet Set Willy, Ghouls and Ghosts, Street fighter and hundreds of others.

Made several old men very happy.

One platformer that was critical to the 80s still hasnt been mentioned yet.. Any guesses ?

Ghouls and Ghost was the hardest game I ever played on SNES. Don't know what the arcade was like.

Bit late to the party on this but the Emlyn Hughes thing reminded me of playing for the Cambridge Vets and a big Russian guy who was a Liverpool fan who played in the centre of defence.

We nicknamed him Kremlin Hughes. The poor fella had no idea what we were on about but it gave us a bit of a chuckle all the same.

Raiders of the Lost Ark on the Atari console and then later Way of the Exploding Fist and Paperboy on the ZX as I recall we're our goto games
