The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

God is a gas. I mean he's not like Calor Gas.

Looked back at it and that Colombia FK for their goal should not be a FK he goes down much too easily.

Japan are always such a likeable team, I think. Every World Cup they remind me of some of the passing teams we came up against in League One—good on the ball, decent movement, but ultimately kinda lightweight and unable to step up against the bigger, stronger teams that are also as technically good.

N'Diaye starts for Senegal.

Ah, an African team coached by an African. Refreshing.

Wolves getting a mention early doors thanks to big Alf.

Niang apparently had a good end of the season for Torino but he's looked really ineffective so far here.

Senegal been in some decent positions so far, no killer edge as yet.

Senegal probably look the best African team so far. It's a seriously low bar though.

Massive sign the game isn't the best, when the most interesting thing is the length of someone's name.

No "probably" about it, is there? They're clearly the most talented side and already look the best coached to take advantage of their strengths.

I think Morocco have better players overall, but after a nice start they unravelled and had no proper plan.

Tunisia are ranked higher than Senegal FWIW. We haven't seen Egypt with Salah yet either, they miss him more than Portugal would Ronaldo.

1-0 Senegal, huge deflection.
