The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Brazil have gone completely off the boil, and Switzerland are just lacking any competence to get back into the game. Shaqiri is fucking dreadful.

Like 'll teams I have seen since Thursday they cannall be got at with Pace

Nice touch.

Some of the top teams are struggling with pace and closing down.
Nice to see the bigger teams struggling against teamsbtgat are more than a sum of there parts.
This will be interesting if it stays like this.

Two attacking subs so far for Brasil, drawing bring on two defensive midfielders. Renato Augusto is an awful nothing of a player too.

Marcelo with some outrageous filth. He's great to watch when he's in the mood. Neywar's been gash tonight.

Neymar is shit. Almost as shit as the numbers on the Swiss shirts...

Good block at the end by Schar, I'm sure if he'd left it then someone at the back post had a tap in.

Well done Switzerland. You’d have got good odds on both Germany and Brazil failing to win their opening fixtures.

Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Germany and Brazil.

All without a win in their first game.

Celebrity World Cup Catchphrase on ITV. What has Helen Chamberlain done to her face?

Very poor performance by Germany.

Balls of steel by Swiss coach replacing the elder who was marking Neymar by a guy from the Swiss league with still almost 10 mins to play...

I was wondering that, I wouldn’t have known who it was if I hadn’t heard her name at the start. Mind you I didn’t realise she was 51.

None of the big teams, even the ones who won their opening games (looking at you especially, France), seem like they want to win this thing so far.

Too early to write off anyone of course, but I like how interesting it makes it. Also sets things up *perfectly* for England to get a solid-yet-uninspiring win against Tunisia and kickstart a bunch of "wait a second, are we actually looking better than everyone else, could we win this???" media hype...

Absolutely elated at the Mexico result. They really should be making the quarters at minimum with their side.
