The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

I've said that 99% of the time that the Colombian would probably get a red card but imo yellow was right. He didn't hurt Henderson and was never going to but he was stupid, yellow fine for me.

Agree with you on the antics though, it's piss poor.

Whether Henderson was hurt is irrelevant. The level of force is not an issue, it is the act of deliberately putting your head into another player.

this has drama but almost no goal chances so pretty dull..

Although we're winning we've not tested them at all. I can't remember testing Ospina at all bar the penalty.

Well Clattenburg was of a different opinion, he said yellow for use of the head but the head connecting with the chin was red. I disagree with that because he didn't butt him whereas he thought he had.

Is that not the difference between what you think the rules should be and what they are though? I don't think either should be red cards in the way I'd like to see the game policed, but the rules as they are then they are.

Could maybe do with some fresh legs here. Rashford to get them on the break? Thought that was a pen on lingard

What would you have done pre penalty Frank?

Firstly, after awarding the penalty I would have retreated from the incident so that if players wanted to protest they would have had to come to me to protest. And that would have meant a yellow card for every player who did do. But I doubt even that would have affected a Colombian side who had lost all discipline.

This game must be extremely difficult to control. Which is why I said that FIFA need to investigate the antics in the game. They have been disgraceful.

Southgate needs to get some fresh legs on. Can see the sense in leaving Sterling on for his pace on the break. But RLC is very good with the ball at his feet and we need someone who can keep possession.

I’d be getting a bigger physical presence on around about now. Possibly RLC for Sterling.

Oddly I think Sterling has been more effective this half. I'd be changing RLC for Alli but more importantly Delph for Henderson who's gone missing.

I was giving my opinion though.

Surprised that Southgate has not used a sub yet - Alli clearly not fully fit & it's hampering any attack

Time for us to start disrupting the game and time wasting.
