Still getting spanked by Spain in SF before Brazil anyway...

The over thinking it is a bit of a joke. Play Brazil on the QF, and if you win that you’ve then got the easier Semi by playing distinctly average Argies/France/Portugal.

Are Brazil better than Spain? I don’t think so. Is there that much difference between throwing a game and pissing everyone off, lowering morale, losing momentum and potentially getting to a Semi only to get spanked by Spain. Or win out in the group, spank Japan, confidence sky high and then play Brazil. We’d have more chance making the final playing Brazil than the route we’ve taken, and we all wouldn’t be pissed off and empty.

The chat about throwing the game over the last few weeks as Brazil and Germany were faltering pissed me off and it still pisses me off now that we’ve gone along with it.

Well the team I backed to be losing finalists are out, as is my leading scorer who got as many goals this World Cup as I have, so that tells you the accuracy of my predictions

I think we'll probably lose to Colombia and Gareth will have to go back to selling pizzas with a bag over his head to atone for his sins. It's the World Cup ffs, not the Carabao Cup. Should be trying to win every game with your best team.

Before the tournament I'd have been cock a hoop at the prospect of a second round game against Colombia with the winner going onto to face Sweden or Switzerland however the manner of last night with all of the changes made has left me on a bit of a downer. Listening to Alexander-Arnold afterwards he was absolutely gutted to have lost and I would imagine that was the case for the rest of those that played. Southgate has a job to lift the spirits of those involved last night as not only has he sent a message to 10 of them that they are the reserves but also that they haven't been good enough to force their way into the reckoning for Tuesday nights selection. 3 or 4 of them could have been in contention but not now.

Don't risk it. I missed Wales v Belgium in the 2016 Euros and have regretted it ever since as I thought I'd be able to avoid the score between Gatwick and home.. which I most definitely didn't due to all the knobheads and their smartphones the minute we landed!

Whatever I am enjoying this World Cup far more than any other this century. One fixed nil nil plenty of good goals VAR excitement England under less pressure and doing fine so far. Germany home. Spain and France to join them next week? I still think their will be a surprise winner. England I hope but at this point Croatia or Russia would be fine as would Belgium. Enjoy your night off gentlemen. Buy your wives or partners flowers, take them out for a meal and get some brownie points stored to last a couple of weeks. Now the real fun starts. Other way round for us Cyber, I'm the one that loves it in our house. Earned me enough brownie points last week to last a lifetime of World Cups. Unfortunately folks here aren't interested, even less so this time as they aren't even in it :icon_lol:. Enjoy the rest of this WC Cyber.

I've not really had any grief from my other half for the almost constant football watching, and she detests football, I've even matched to throw her completely a few times by not watching games she expected me to. Got lucky with the first weekend when she was ill so I just sat myself in front of the TV for every game whilst she stayed in bed feeling sorry for herself, missed the last two England games by going and doing other stuff instead though because I don't really care about watching them so took advantage of everywhere being a ghost town but then I've managed to play on her lack of interest by 'sacrificing' the chance to watch some real classics like Morocco v Iran or Nigeria v Iceland because she just knows there is some football on and has no idea if it's anything worth watching or not.

Did I understand it - Yes, if he had lost one of the main players would have been crazy given we did not need to win the game
Did I like the performance - NO
Do I think we are better than last night - Yes
Will we beat Colombioa - We should, but then we should have beaten Iceland
Still think no matter what happens the players and the manager have done enough to put a smile back on the nations faces when it comes to the national team.
