If you do it in the penalty area on a F/K or corner, just gives the ref a decision to make & clearly they now have instructions to deal with it

It's not irrelevant because it has to impede someone for it to be a foul. I can understand giving it if you think he has fouled him but then VAR is there to overturn that. I'd rather players didn't grab at all on set pieces, there really isn't any need apart from being lazy but not everyone is a foul.
