The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Can't believe some of those are left out really.

Absolutely. All the names Nando mentioned a post or two above yours and he hasn't even mentioned players like Lacazette, Neves, Nainggolan, Fabregas, Bellerin & PTG 2014 hero Christian Benteke - I'm sure there are many more too - and England are taking Danny Welbeck.

You could probably make three elevens from the 'left at homes' that would shit all over England

Hmm, I wouldn't be too bothered about Benteke!

There are as many players from the squad that got us relegated to League One going to the World Cup as there are from the squad that got us promoted to the Prem.

Radja is in there! Absolutely farcical he's not going.

Fellaini over Nainggolan.

Young and Delph over Bertrand.

International management is made up of dimwits to a large extent. I quite like Löw but there is no way that any of Draxler, Özil or Gomez should be going ahead of Sané.

He said it was between Sane and Brandt. I'd still have taken Sane.

I haven't seen loads of Germany lately but by sounds of it he hasn't performed that well when given the opportunity. They do have Marco Reus ahead of him anyway to play on the left.

Dan you take that back about Mesut! Löw loves him as much as I do I reckon anyway :D

DW -

Harry Kane listed as joint second heaviest player at the world cup...

Joint with Maguire, who presumably holds 90% of that weight in his head.

Been reading some interviews and Journo comments from the journo's that usually follow England.

I would suggest this is the best TEAM since 96 not a high bar I know, but promising.
Fancy us to have a fair world cup, making Quarters, hoping we have some youngsters coming through the U21's etc that can improve our weaker areas namely Centre half's, Coady is definitely an upgrade on Cahill.

The Euro 2004 team was miles better...

James / Neville, Terry, Campbell, Cole / Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes / Owen, Rooney.

You can make a case that all of those outfield players were world class at the time.
