The Official World Cup 2018 Megathread

Scotland got absolutely dominated by Mexico yesterday. El Tri had something like 32 shots.

McLeish already working his magic for Scotland.

Yes, theoretically. But they will probably make up any old shit. I've seen refs in this country in the FA Cup checking it for corners at times when they're not supposed to.

The footwork alone was unreal but I'd love to see what speed the ball hit the net, that was one venomous finish.

Just watching Spain/Switzerland. The way Spain move the ball around, and how their players seamlessly switch from defence to attack - it really puts it in to perspective how far off England are from being serious challengers this summer.

I saw a bit of Peru the other day as well and they were knocking it around brilliantly too!

Match was alright, Neymar scored a good goal. Wasn't particularly impressed by Brazil but it was a friendly. First half was poor, Croatia looked the better side and had a few good chances. Modric did well and I liked the look of the Croatian winger Rebic. Only Marcelo and Willian looked to get the ball forwards for Brazil until Neymar came off the bench. Second half Brazil got better. Wasn't impressed by Alisson, his distribution was really bad. Kept either kicking it out of play or putting his defenders under pressure by passing to them when a man was already on them.

Still, an international match and I actually felt entertained, was nice. Either of these two would beat England without too much difficulty.

Thought England played well going forward 1st half. It was entertaining but second half was shocking.
Too many subs don't see Young playing over Rose. I was ok with Walker at centre half as Trippier played really well.
Would not change the front players would change Maguire for Cahill, Young for Rose. Delph and Young would not get on the pitch unless we are fucked. Going forward good, dodgy at the back

Leroy Sane doesn’t make German 23 man squad, just shows their depth I guess. Feel for him after a brilliant season, though he did look tired towards the end

Right, who can pick the best left at home XI and squad, not including players ruled out with injuries:

XI

Bernd Leno

Sergi Roberto
Jonathan Tah
Aymeric Laporte
Alex Sandro

Javi Martinez
Radja Nainggolan
Adrien Rabiot

Leroy Sane
Mauro Icardi
Anthony Martial

RESERVES

Sergio Asenjo
Geronimo Rulli

Fabinho
Clement Lenglet
Marcos Alonso

Gabi
Emre Can

Kingsley Coman
Jose Callejon
Vitolo

Alvaro Morata
Karim Benzema

You've left out Jonjo Shelvey, Nando! How could you?!

Stick either of those keepers in ahead of Weetabix Hands Leno.

Add Max Meyer to the list of German absentees.

Can't believe some of those are left out really.

Peszko in the Poland squad. I sure am glad that Saunders froze him out so we could play Dave Edwards, Kevin Foley, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Stephen Hunt on the right wing.

Did Björn make the Iceland squad?

He did. Number 9 as well.
