I don't necessarily doubt it either (though Romain's idea of joke money is probably different to mine).

But I do very much doubt it was 100% Jeff Shi's call.

Fair enough. There's a lot to pin on Lage, but the decision to offer Saiss a 12 month contract at whatever conditions was made by others. He was poor post AFCON but a rock up until that point, and we've missed him this season, or missed a decent replacement.
