I would say that would have been a minority view in May, his form post-AFCON was dreadful, it seemed like the natural end for both parties.

I'd be annoyed if it was down to Lage being a prick as it was with Coady, but I'm not sure that was the case.

I don't think we'll ever know 100% (take what the likes of "Talking Wolves" say on their podcast with several thousand pinches of salt, they've properly binned their reputation with that bullshit about Kalajdzic), if he wanted more than one year on top then you could understand why the club - not just Jeff - would say no.

Lage wanted to keep Ruddy but was rightly told it was nonsense for us to be spending so much on a reserve keeper who would never ever play out of choice and was putting no realistic pressure on the #1. Either cheap out on it (as we have with Sarkic) or it needs to be a viable alternative.

I don't doubt Shi delivered the news to him.

But it's a bit like Paul Butler saying it was Jez Moxey's call that he left Wolves, no it wasn't.

Thought Romain was superb.
Belgium were awful.

Shame Argies won last night but they did not look great.

Even France did not look great in their 2nd games, those that won the first games just need to not lose, those that drew their first games need to not lose.

Teams like USA who need to win will probably stay cautious until 2nd half others will not want to be behind at half time.

1st halfs will be slow and Cautious, I suggest even Wales will be slow 1st hal aiming to still be in with a shout at half time, goals in other games will have knock on effects...

It's all about qualifying out the group teams will be just doing enough.

Don't expect England to flood forward. Don't expect any really thrilling games.
