The Official FIFA World Cup 2022 Megathread

Three of the eight have never won a World Cup and we last won one 56 years ago.

Mate, you've lost me.
All except Croatia would be considered footballing royalty historically.

More to the point, why should I care who wins at this point? My stake is out.
I'd rather see someone like the Netherlands or Croatia win in that scenario but even then, I don't really care. Nothing about those nations moves me in any way. And watching football (or any sport) for the aesthetics doesn't elicit emotion from me in that way.

Natural ability is very much that, genetics.

There's a reason America turns out 7ft basketball players regularly and Brazil don't.
Oh, dude. Yeah let's not.

Now, all of my whining said:

This is truly some next level shit from Brazil.

Well, they look the standout at the moment. This has been breathtaking.

The Koreans have been begging for it since the opening whistle. Completely wide open and they've been heavily punished for it.

Me. Twatting a sub-standard Korea doesn’t make them the 1982 squad. They will get humped by the Dutch or Argentina.

That could happen as anything is possible. However, this Brasil team is light years ahead of either the Dutch or Argentina, both of whom have been pretty mediocre all tournament.

Argentina wow get the ball off Brasil, they struggled to get it off Saudi Arabia.

Is it my imagination but is McCoist getting more Scottish as the game goes on?

Hopefully Brazil beat Croatia too. They annoyed me at the last World Cup by having to win on penalties every time and then going and beating us. Now they’ve done it again on pens.

That's football for 99% of the watching population, whatever the competition. Wolves getting knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round doesn't mean I won't watch and enjoy the later rounds of the competition, and absolutely relish the final if it's City vs Arsenal - and a lot more than I would if it was West Ham vs Arsenal
