We've already come close to this level surprise a couple of times this tournament tbf.The latter, plus there's something riding on it unless you think Tunisia with their 0 goals to date will beat France.
The only reason they are that short is the amount of changes France has made, so uncertainty comes into it.Ok.
Well Tunisia are 5/1 to win and I would say that is too short. If it were the only game on I'd watch it, as it isn't then I won't.
Wasn't trying to convince you that you should tbf. Just saying this has been a tournament with some very surprising results so far.Ok.

Given who was in the group I don't think it's over-the-top arroganceLove the mainstream sport media here.
"The US getting out of the Group is not a success"
Arrogant bastards.
Problem is that too many here will think "we don't have a chance of winning so I can't get invested".Given who was in the group I don't think it's over-the-top arrogance
In the context of the group though if you'd finished behind Iran and / or Wales that would have been a failureProblem is that too many here will think "we don't have a chance of winning so I can't get invested".
We have to accept that football ain't, well, football. We don't have a monopoly on the global standard of the game. Even measuring purely from a talent standpoint we aren't hugely better than Iran, IMV. And too many here simply won't give a shit until US Soccer can become the US Basketball of the international sport. Which, frankly, almost certainly will not and can not happen.
