The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Attack v defence. Far too negative imo no way can you hope to defend for 90 minutes at this level of football.

Not only that but what do you do if you go 1-0 down? Can't play any more adventurously with these players.

That's the gamble O'neil is taking even if they go one down I'm sure the tactic will be to stay in the game for as long a possible then change it with an hour gone.

No way can you keep the ball either. Davis and Norwood are technically decent footballers but they're the only players on the pitch capable of keeping hold of the ball and picking a pass. Poland kind of playing into Irish hands though with all these crosses.

Poland seem to have dialled back a bit from the first 5 minutes, wonder if they're just looking to be a bit more patient after realising peppering a centre half laden box will likely be fruitless or if it's a more long term approach, making sure they don't needlessly burn themselves out and perhaps hoping Northern Ireland get a bit more confident and open themselves up as the game goes on.

Not quite sure why Grosicki isn't playing when they're sending everything down the wings.

Absolute sitter over the bar from Milik.

Great chance for Milik and he really has to score after doing all the hard work.

Grosicki missing with an ankle injury I think they said.

That would have been a great goal from Kapustka.

Some chaotic defending from Northern Ireland on set pieces, just sheer weight of numbers seeing them through on that occasion.

How many CB will he start with against Germany? Surely they will need one win to get through, Ukraine are no worse than Poland.

It's like watching wolves last season. Just aimlessly humping the ball at the forward, mostly at his head and no goal threat at all

Ukfraine aren't much cop. Decent defensive record but don't score many. Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko are their only threats.

Milik always looks like he wants at least a touch too many.

Just unsustainable to play that way.

That's a good thing for the game. Hopefully NI will attempt to do something in the Poland half. Not that I can see them getting anything from this.
